This album was released 1979.. 43 years old and still fresh

The album sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, deposited four singles into the Billboard Top 10 and showcased (or, more specifically, unleashed) Jackson's talents as a entertainer, a vocalist, a writer and, most importantly, as a leading man. Off the Wall signified Jackson's independence, and not just from the stifling creative control foisted on him by the folks at Motown. Over the course of 10 revelatory tracks, Jackson serves notice that he's no longer the cherub-faced boy with the notable afro, he's a full-grown man, one capable of workin' day and night, not stopping 'til he's had enough and loving so hard that it cuts like a knife. A masterful mixture of fiery disco tracks (album opener "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," "Workin' Day and Night"), smooth, loverman tunes ("Rock With You," the McCartney cover "Girlfriend") and positively soul-devastating ballads ("She's Out of My Life," on which Jackson famously breaks down at track's end), Off the Wall is sumptuous, sexy and self-assured, a powerhouse that, through sheer skill of all involved, re-imagined R&B, disco and funk as not just so-called "black" music, but as colorblind, all-encompassing pop music, tunes that the entire world could groove to,And they did. Off The Wall has a lot of dance music because Michael went to a disco club called “Studio 54” alot where celebrities met at that time and he liked to see people having fun there, he was always too shy to socialize. This influenced the style of the album. Long Live The King Of Music Forever! Michael Joseph Jackson🙆🏽♂️🙌🏽👑💖🔥🌟(Also you have to listen to the “Triumph” album by The Jacksons released in 1980,If you want an Off The Wall Part 2... that’s exactly what it was. Right after OTW, right before Thriller. One of my favorite albums of all time!) #MichaelJacksonKeptDiscoAliveLiterally

Don't listen to this BS opinion especially as a black person about this album not clearly being black music.... Non-blacks people always want to "unblack" black music and culture. This album is Mike's music at it's BLACKEST as a full fledged solo artist and it's his best album in many black people's opinion including mine. If "other" kinds of people like it that's cool because they've always secretly love our music but it's DEFINITELY black music and it should be embraced as such. Have an excellent day sista!

Michael produced Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough & Working Day and Night Rod Temperton (who wrote Thriller) wrote Rock With You & Off The Wall Quincy Jones is the main producer so he produced but helped clean up the other songs too. Sir Paul McCartney produced Girlfriend And Legendary Stevie Wonder wrote I Can’t Help It When you have nothing but the best songwriters and producers alongside your own expertise… your album is bound the be the best

MJ was a fantastic writer himself he’s in the Songwriters Hall Of Fame for a reason btw these tracks MJ did the Home Demos for so all Quincy did was polish them up a bit but for the most part I’ll give most of the credit to MJ & Rod Temperton also Bruce Swedien but MJ is truly the Magic behind all these tracks!✍🏽👑💯

@@pressurejawn You can't deny Quincy's input is just as important as Michael's and Rod's. I have a friend in music and I see him and the producer work. The producer's input makes the song sound better than it did in the beginning.
@pressurejawn2 жыл бұрын
@@billyjohn7846 Not denying anything just saying all he credit and heavy load was much more on MJ’s shoulders etc. producers focus on one aspect MJ’s focuses were in so many fields even before they start recording the track etc. just a pure genius they’re all geniuses but MJ is the ultimate genius truly!👑🌟🔐

I believe the song you're asking about at 44:00 is Heaven can Wait, from his last album Invincible, very underrated album imo.

After Michael Jackson was in the movie "the wiz" that Quincy Jones produced, that led to Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson working together to create this, his 1st official solo album, and then thriller and then bad. Which are michael's 3 most successful albums

Awesome reaction! OTW is one of the greatest albums of all time and was produced by Quincy Jones and Mike. They went on to coproduce Thriller and Bad. FYI on MJ’s skin; he had very bad acne as a teenager and it made him really self conscious and shy.

Please don’t forget to React to Spike Lee’s Off The Wall Documentary I sent you it in 4K on Patreon and MJ’s Sylvia Chase 1980 Interview,btw you should def React to “She’s Out Of My Life” Music Video also “Get On The Floor” which is a great song Also the song you’re mentioning that’s all over TikTok is “Heaven Can Wait” off of MJ’s final studio album which was released in 2001 titled “Invincible” it’s such an underrated album for MJ’s standards same goes for Blood On The Dance Floor album Invincible sold very well and went straight to Number 1 but Sony tried to sabotage his album rollout which why the album only included 2 Music Videos and less promotion than his other projects but still is surprisingly his fastest selling album of all time!✍🏽👑🎯🔐💯
