Different styles. Michael has way more going on in his vocals. Much more layered and his ability to jump between lower and higher ranges seamlessly is downright scary. Incredibly hard to master. Freddie has an awesome voice as well but takes less risk. His style allows him to stretch out notes for longer periods giving us that feeling of an epic victory. Almost like an opera singer. He stays within his comfort zone and that works for his style singing. I feel Freddie's style is much less complex but it works.

Freddie was a smoker, used coke, & had vocal polyps. All that hurt his voice.
@dis781711 ай бұрын
That's funny. Freddie is known for his ability to jump from tenor, to soprano, head voice, chest voice, throat voice, falsetto, speaking voice. And he has sung opera, sort of! He wasn't afraid to try anything different. Didn't get stuck in one genre. Listen to killer queen to hear the ease as he jumps from low to high and low again. I think Freddie is way more complex with singing and composing. His "comfort zone" is extremely wide.
@dis781711 ай бұрын
@@TaushaTW No smoking did not hurt his voice. You'd think his voice would become fainter, more raspy, name a song where you think his voice was negatively affected. Just listen to his last songs where he is perfectly fine singing high and low, sweet and smooth, loud and soft. I bet MJ used drugs too. In fact most of his later songs are with the higher voice rather than the loud rock and roll early 70's.

I agree but unfortunately, videos like this will never cease to exist. It’s all part of human nature to compete over everything. When harnessed correctly, competitiveness keeps us hungry, motivated and creative. It can also feed idle minds, emotional immaturity, hate and insecurity. I think what we can do, is to be emotionally mature enough to recognise how brilliant and incomparable each male and female great is in their own way, and respect them for carving their own path even if we might not particularly like their personality, sexuality, or music.

I don't know how to explain it. You can tell from listening to them both, MJ has that very clear/concise tone of voice. Freddie is a more raw sounding voice. When I listen to MJ, I instantly start tapping my feet and wanting to dance. When I hear Freddie, I go silent and want to hear every crack and tone and pitch. For me, there is something about his voice that just hits the soul and heart and I want to listen intently to it. It brings out an emotion in me that very few artists ever had. Another Artist I can think of that gets me like Freddie was Chester Bennington (lead singer of Linkin Park). His voice had such raw emotion in it, you just wanted it to overflow and consume you (in a good way).
@jaz5086 Жыл бұрын

@@offusyoufus4278 dude there is nothing as alpha or beta in singing lol. What are you even saying? Freddie had better technique but Michael Jackson sounded better than him. Freddie sounded more fuller though.
@offusyoufus42785 жыл бұрын
Prabin Gautam I was saying in terms of vocal sound, so you were supposed to comprehend as another way of Freddie sounding more “macho”. So to answer what you said as “beta or alpha” not being able to proficiently describe singing sound that’s completely false you can acurretly do that through analyzing whether if they sing higher as a falsetto or alto(as Michael did) or lower as a soprano(as Freddie was) and you can’t just say Michael sounds better, it’s all subjective so that’s not an argument
@randomvideos6783 Жыл бұрын
My two favourites. Freddie was the powerful Queen of rock. Michael was the king of pop. Michael used his falsetto voice a lot. Michael could do a soft voice to a powerful gritty rock sort of voice. Michael also had a deep velvety voice. Freddie had a rich smooth voice as well as an opera voice. Although Michael is my first love, I love both and I don’t think they can be compared as both different. I think they are both amazing in their own right. They duetted on There must be more to life together and it’s heavenly. Two angels. I also met Sir Dr Brian May (Queens guitarist)

He could teach them some tricks or something like that......But not Michael. For me they lived at two different timelines. Music genres and their sound traits are totally different. Freddie’s voice is just untouchable, man. Michael’s tremendous though
@jacksomwaskavanaski55026 жыл бұрын
Ok that is like the only thing he is better than MJ. MJ own the best album of all time, best dancer or 2nd best of all time, own the best music video of all time, 8 Grammy in one night.

But its not even a close competition. Michaels voice is better and he's a better singer. Freddy is amazing tho
@TheDude0446 жыл бұрын
Christopher Carmona no it isn’t dude 😂 Anybody with half of a brain can tell that Freddy has a better voice and is a more well rounded vocalist. Bohemian Rhapsody is better than anything MJ has ever written

Freddie had a very powerful voice, a phenomenon. He put a lot of emotions in the songs, that's amazing, a spectacular singer. Legend !! But from the moment Michael starts singing "they don't care about us" he shows why he is the king of pop, and why he is the greatest musical artist of all time. The guy has been a phenomenon since he was a child, surreal !! When I listen to him sing there's no way to stay still, it's a feeling of joy.Michael Jackson had something very unique about him, extraordinary talent.👑 Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson are legends of music history, maximum respect for both !! RIP Legends.

Freddie for me wins Freddie is almost proven to be the best singer the world has ever seen. He can actually move second vocal cords, something only 3 known people in the world can do (including Freddie) and at the live aid performance Queen blew the audience away so much that other bands and singers at the show were mad at them for stealing the spotlight RIP Freddy Mercury and Michael Jackson

I think Freddie's voice is much richer in tone - but MJ was a lot more technical in his delivery. MJ worked out what the public would like and delivered exactly what he planned. Freddie seems more about feel and had some imperfections that I think add to the result.

Both are legends and are respected in music world equally but I observed one thing. In Michael’s parts, you don’t even need background music, his voice itself acts as a musical instrument

Do you wana know why? It's because Michael's music is all around him all the time. But in the other corner Freddie's voice is part of Queen, which is a complete band. And, the most important thing, it's a complete different style of music. Aaaand... yes, the voice is obviously a musical instrument.

Michaels voice IS a beat! His voice alone makes you wanna dance the beats is just the icing on top of the cake for me. Michael got this one! 3:10

Michael smooth criminal was one of the best things i ever heard 😭 Freddy is stretching every word and barely uses different pitch he’s saying in one range. Michael voice is like 3D audio and Mercury is like…. Monotone🤣
