I competed in the USPA Nationals Power Lifting Championships. Won best overall sub masters. I spent over $1,000 out of pocket for a medal. That $1,000 went towards training, meet entry fee, hotel, food while out of town, flight. Don’t get me wrong. I went into it knowing all this. Just proves that there’s no money in it. Passion and ego, I guess. But, I loved doing it.

@emmanuelenyinwa14433 жыл бұрын
@@williamj.dovejr.8613 Keep telling yourself bullshit. Schwarzenegger was nothing more than a narcissistic meathead weightlifter when he started going out with Maria Shriver in 1976. At that time, he was already in a relationship with a hairdresser named Sue Moray, so he was using Shriver. At that point in his life, he had won Mr. Olympia a few times, but was hocking vitamins in Austria and living in an apartment and hotels. Eventually, he was confronted by his fiance and he had to make a decision. So, he got rid of her and dated Shriver for almost a decade before marrying her. His relationship with the Kennedys was what turned him from being an immigrant weightlifter into a cultural figure, getting him movie roles even though he sounds like a Bavarian yokel, and shoved him into the political arena even though he has ZERO oratory or public relation skills and had so many accusations of sexual assaults that would make Weinstein blush, most of which took place while he was married to Shriver. In fact, Arnold famously fathered a son with their Guatemalan housekeeper named Baena, with the housekeeper having Arnold's son days before Shriver had his son, too. All this stuff is pretty well documented. What a guy!

I was in LA in the 90s and all the bloods and crips were begging me to be their friend and they called a truce right there.. Janet Jackson, Toni Braxton, Halle berri and vivica fox wanted to have a 4some with me but it's against my bushido code.. I sparred with bruce li when my family went to California when I was 2 and he said I was gonna be the greatest but I didn't follow through out of respect to bruce.. I went 29999-0 in tournaments but didnt want to be a pro fighter because I didnt want to be broke and saw too many fighters go down the wrong path... I've sparred with every single famous fighter there ever was and couldve embarrased them but it's not the point to win, it's about learning.. The pope told me I should take his place because of how pure my spirit is but i declined because i love my family.. When i played mike tyson the biggest challenge was trying not to look like a better version of tyson than tyson... You can read about all these things in my new book, "I'm basically God" - MJW

For competitive bodybuilders, the amount of money spent on food and drugs preparing for a completion outweighs winning the actual competition unless you win first place. Everyone else either breaks even or even loses money. Plus the average bodybuilding death is 35 due to all the steroids that they consume. Plus the drugs produce testosterone. The body shuts down and no longer produces it. So most males can’t even get hard on there own anymore after years of going so. The same with professional wrestlers. Sad and not worth it

The top guys like Phil Heath, Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman and a few others are doing well for sure but most are struggling to pay bills bro. There are some bodybuilders who are living in their cars as we speak.

@@IAMJEFFREY-cw9ns exactly. People look at the very few exceptions and ignore that 95% are like you said, struggling.

@@knowledge-lw8rk Gay for pay is also a very real thing in bodybuilding, as is meeting clients in hotel rooms to pose naked for them, or selling your used thongs and stuff.

I remember Branch Warren said on a Muscle and Strength video saying that his grocery bill when he was still competing was close to $6000 a month. That’s coming from an Arnold Classic champ and runner up at the Olympia

That bill included all his secret sauces!

J. White looks like he has an ego problem. It seems like he wants octagon respect without stepping in the cage because he’s “sparred with the best”.... come on man. Steven segal part 2!

Other fighters show some type of respect so he must know ah lil something

Not all martial artists find fulfillment fighting in a cage to a bloodthirsty audience for chump change. GSP is a good example he hates competing but loves training and gym life

Can't remember the movie (some romance comedy of couples vacationing) but Michael Jai White was on some serious gear. His size was crazy. Granted he probably made the money back with the movie and getting paid to look but I'm sure if there wasn't any back lash from it he could easily elaborate more on this topic lol

They don’t do it for the money. They do it to feed their ego
