MJ: I respect Isaiah's talent. He's the 2nd best point guard ever, behind Magic. Guess MJ didn't think the 2nd best point guard in NBA history could've helped the USA team win, though, eh MJ?? Who's the real rectal orifice??? Also, to those who never saw him play, I'd pick Oscar Robertson over ANY point guard in NBA history. Period. He was better, bigger, and just as quick as Thomas, and a better scorer. As a pure point guard, he was also better than Magic. Magic was more versatile, as he could even play Forward and Center. But the best point guard in NBA history was Oscar Robertson, who once averaged a triple double for an entire NBA season!!! Plus, other than Jerry Lucas, Oscar never played with any great players, or on a great team. But as soon as he did have some great team mates, he won an NBA championship with the 1971 Milwaukee Bucks. Oscar was on his way down from his greatest years then. But teamed with Alcindor, Dandridge, etc., they went all the way.....

Isiah told the truth because in that doc Jordan was shown as being a bully and disrespectful of the guys who helped win titles. It was proven early on that while Jordan put on a show and would often score 40, 50, 60 pts, he wasn't going to win an NBA title unless he had help and he had to trust other guys and he eventually came to that conclusion and won 6 titles. It's isn't about how good you are because it's about how good the guys around you are and in LA and Boston, Magic and Bird had great supporting casts who had their back. Jordan finally got that later on in his career. The part of the doc that showed them disrespecting Jerry Krause was in bad taste because that man had passed away and his family had to see him being mistreated so that to me was low plus Scottie Pippen talked about the doc in that it was all about Jordan as if they didn't do anything but come along for the ride.
@phade2blaq
@phade2blaq Жыл бұрын
Jordan was an ahole and even today guys who played with Jordan have called him a bully and an ahole so when former teammates all have a similar opinion of you, they're not lying. Also in that doc, they disrespected Jerry Krause and even if they did not like that man, they should have shown him the respect he deserved for putting the pieces together that turned the Bulls into 6 time champions. Plus as Isiah said, the man has passed on and his family has to see that. I'm like Isiah in that I cannot respect that.

The problem with Isisah is that he still dun think the Pistons did anything wrong by walking away. He kept bringing up that the Celtics did it before and so on. That doesn’t mean it is the right thing to do. But the fact is, Bulls shook their hands when they lost, that is a fact. So it is just courtesy for them to do the same. isisah being the defecto leader, should have stopped the Pistons from doing that. To only change his tone after the media outburst, just show what kind of standards he held himself to as a leader of the Pistons.
@phade2blaq

They didn't because the Celtics did the same thing when Detroit beat them. All of the Celtics except McHale waked off the court and there's video of that if you care to check it out yet Larry Bird never gets called out nor do the Celtics for walking off but more than that the NBA upper management was upset that someone had crashed the Lakers and Celtics party that had went on since Magic and Larry showed up except for a few years when Philly crashed it but outside of that the Lakers and Celtics had ruled the 1980s and the NBA didn't want anyone else crashing that party. The NBA was brought back to life because prior to Magic, Bird and later Jordan, the NBA wasn't being shown on tv live. In fact the NBA Finals was being tape delayed when Magic won his first title in 1980.

Jordan and Isiah need to sit down and air out their differences and explain why they did what they did as young immature men back then. With that being said, Isiah deserved to on the Dream Team and Clyde Drexler, David Robinson, Pat Ewing etc have all said this over the years that he was deserving. Based on merit and body of work, Isiah definitely deserved to be there because his Olympic team in 1980s boycotted the Olympics in protest of Russia invading Afghanistan so they didn't get a chance to play.

Now if Isaiah stuck by his word and said he led the walk off because Jordan disrespected his team and legacy he would be more respected. Jordan did say the nba will be better with the Pistons out of the way prior to sweeping them. So walking off the court and not shaking Jordan hand was Justified. Isiah had to fight Bird Celtics and Magic Lakers the two greatest franchises ever to get on top. Jordan never had to face the Lakers or Celtics in their prime. You’re correct Isiah keeps changing his story. That’s his problem he’s standing on his word. History shows he’s only star beat Jordan in his prime. And plus (which the Celtics was wrong to do that, also...).....shaking hands at the end of ANY game is called sportsmanship. Isiah knew it was wrong. Oh where do I begin. So Isiah Thomas wouldn't shake His Highness' hand. Big deal. Let's remember that the Bulls repeatedly and publicly trashed the Pistons for days leading up to that series- "they're bad human beings, bad for basketball, they don't deserve their championships"-and on and on. So after repeatedly insulting me and dismissing what I've accomplished, NOW you want to shake my hand? Nah. I'll pass. Not to mention that was THIRTY years ago. Get over it, Michael. A little known fact: in 1988, when the Pistons bounced the Celtics from the playoffs, several of the Celtics (led by Bird) wouldn't shake the Pistons' hands. No one knows or cares about that. And why should they? But turn your back on His Highness (Jordan) and thirty years later Thomas still hangs on the cross for that. How ironic that Jordan, Bird, Fagic-all the "cool kids"- are all so righteous and have such animosity toward Thomas when those guys were all BIGGER dix than Thomas was. They were all arrogant prima donnas. So where do they get off?! I lived in Chicago for 25 years, right during Jordan's heyday, and let me tell you, despite the "be like Mike" image the media went to great lengths to preserve, Michael Jordan was a sk um bag. Serial adulterer, degenerate gambler who would constantly welsh on his gambling debts, hung out with gamblers, drug dealers and other unsavory characters. He was NOT the lily white angel that the media made him out to be. Far from it. If you want to see Michael Jordan's TRUE character, watch his hall of fame induction speech. It's downright appalling.

His own college coach (Knight) called him(Jordan )the greatest basketball player he’d ever seen, BEFORE he even set foot in the NBA. MJ is the greatest in my opinion, but when he didn’t get his way he acted like a little punk too and we all saw that. When Isaiah said “everyone else did it” stuck out to me, e cause I was always taught just because these people do it don’t mean you should. And one of the biggest basic fundamentals of the game is sportsmanship, which you show respect to the opposite team, win or lose. MJ shooked Zeke's hands as well as the entire Pistons team when we (the Bulls) lost to them 3 consecutive years in the Eastern Conference Championships. Zeke should've shown the same respect towards MJ when the Bulls swept the Pistons in '91. Zeke was the team captain of the Pistons. He should've known better than to take Laimbeer's idiotic idea to NOT shake the Bulls team's hands. He knew he done fucked up when he did that. And then Zeke brought more attention to himself, which made it worse....for him. MJ kept his mouth shut about it until The Last Dance documentary. Even though the Dream Team documentary came out & everyone else talked about the situation with Zeke, MJ still at that time, didn't talked about it. Zeke continued to keep bringing it up! SMDH....🙄🤦🏽‍♀️😂😂😂 Just bringing more negative attention on himself. But, of course, MJ was gonna address the Isiah situation on the Last Dance documentary, which he did. He said what he felt about it, then he done moved on from it. That man has moved on to live his best life. And Zeke STILL can't let it go. That's called "having a guilty conscience", cause deep down.....Zeke knew he was wrong for doing that. That's why he said if he can do it all over again, he WOULD'VE shook MJ's hand. And Isiah (supposed to be their TEAM LEADER...) ran with him, because their Pistons got SWEPT in that conference playoffs. Rodman just went with the flow. Eastern Conference Finals 1988 Game 6, whilst Adrian Dantley was shooting a FT, the Celtics walked off without shaking the Piston's hands. However, Kevin McHale shook Isiah's hand as they walked off, so I think Isiah was just tryna use that as an excuse. The thing is the Pistons weren't as marketable or popular as the Lakers, Celtics or 76ers at the time, so the media really just ate at them anytime they did something bad.

In that instance, the media would get the silent treatment and players would become the object of his trash-talking! Zeke was the lone exception to that during MJ's career! My point is that Jordan had to truthfully feel slighted to react the way he did in that "last dance" interview

Nah Jordan is Jordan and Isiah is Isiah. Remember Isiah had a stellar amateur career and won titles in high school, college and the NBA. Jordan won in college and the NBA but prior to Jordan making that game winning shot in the NCAA title game, Jordan was not a household name. In fact Jordan had a good game but people hardly remembered him from that game and not until he got to UNC did he begin to stand out after James Worthy and Sam Perkins left.

Isaiah states . We didn’t do nothing different then the Celtics did, we did nothing different then the lakers did? Is he nuts? The Pistons deliberately tried to hurt people even jeopardize their careers . Bill lambere would actually try to put his feet where other players land , when coming down from a layup or dunk ,hoping they would land on his feet and twist their ankles. They were dirty ,classless and hated by the fans outside Detroit , they’re a black spot that will never go away on the nba. I’m a sixers fan and I hated the Celtics hated the lakers but the pistons? They were beyond hated . They tried to ruin the league hurt the stars and were just a bunch of dirty players ! They couldn’t beat the league by playing fair. So they cheated . Who could route for that? Not me or hardly anyone!

In my opinion Isaiah Thomas twists and distorts situations to make himself look like the victim. Jordan's dislike of Thomas is a reaction of the Piston's bad deeds against the Bulls. The Pistons not only played physical.....they took it to a level that they are TRYING to injure the opposing players and that is malicious. Now I think Jordan could of forgiven that but what I think what made it more worse was that Isaiah Thomas (along with most of his teamates) REFUSED to shake hands with the Bulls in 1991 when they were swepted. Jordan was always decent enough to shake the Pistons hands in each of the 3 years prior when they lost to the Pistons....and when Jordan overcame them the Pistons refused to shake hands. To me that shows the Pistons were bad people. Isaiah tries to justifiy that by saying "The Celtics refused to shake our hands when we finally beat them".....but why did the Celtics ONLY refused to shake the Pistons hands in defeat and not other teams they got defeated by? I think it was a reaction to the Pistons malicious bad intentions style of play. You all see how Isaiah likes to twist and distort facts to HIS favor?

I've always found humor in winners demanding humility from their vanquished opponents with a handshake moments after they just lost. It's kind of like a humiliation ritual disguised as "sportsmanship" or "honor" Truly great champions aren't sociopaths that need to be congratulated by their rivals. Anyone that thinks the handshake was the reason for Jordans hate of Thomas is delusional, or a closet sociopath themselves. The bad blood between the two stems from multiple instances of jealousy from Thomas and Jordan both. You don't think MJ wasn't jealous of Thomas in the years leading up to him finally defeating the Bad Boys? They weren't just a thorn in his side they were by and far his greatest opponents. Jordan finally conquered it all yes, but those Pistons are one of the greatest teams ever over a 5 year span. Of course he was jealous of their success, he thought he deserved it more than them, and he was probably right, from his perspective The Pistons are my favorite team and the Bad Boys my favorite era of my favorite team. Jordan was better than Zeke, but I like Zeke more. Doesn't mean I can't recognize the petty jealousy he had for Jordan becoming the favored son of Zeke's own hometown. Its petty and egotistical asf, but thats human flaw in full effect. Two peers whose ego's couldn't allow them to be humble toward the other one, thats called rivalry. Respect earned no love lost. Media is at fault for continuing to inquire about the feelings they have for each other. Sure Zeke talks about the handshake or the dream team snub, but does anyone believe he just goes on podcasts and immediately brings up these issues without any sort of lead-in from a talking head? Remember who fans the flames ppl. It ain't these two. Its the commentators on shows and creators of videos that we watch on the subject. conflict=ratings, this is a trick media uses for ratings, clicks, views, etc. Politics, sports, music, hollywood etc. People like watching car crashes as long as it isn't happening to them.
