The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!

Didn't one until Bird and Magic were older and hurt. 17 game in a row losing streak with Boston. Swept twice in the Playoffs with Bird, couldn't even beat Detroit until 91. Over rated I saw him almost every game in Boston Garden. His first 7 years he got his clock cleaned by Boston and others. GOATS don't lose 17 straight times to Boston.

@@theoffgridtravelers7316 they didn't lose 17 straight to Boston. maybe 13 straight, but that was super early in MJ's career, when he had charles oakley as his 2nd best scoring option, lol(oakley was not a scorer) once 1988 hit, and his roster was better, the Bulls were beating the Lakers and Celtics quite often. 1991 showtime Lakers with Magic/Worthy got beat pretty soundly by the Bulls, and they weren't old, so don't try it (check their ages before you try it, don't you do it, you'll look dumb) same with the bad boy pistons, they weren't all of a sudden old in 1991(just cause you don't like MJ and wanna make excuses), when they just won 2 straight titles in 89 and 90. they were going for a 3 peat, that's not old. got beat in the ECF by the better team, no shame, but the old excuse doesnt fly whatsoever, and is weak (their ages prove otherwise, as does the fact that they were going for a 3 peat) now had they not won in 3 years and were 35+ years old with their stars i'd agree. but as it stands, they werent old whatsoever

His Wizards days pretty much prove of having no issue with Zone defense. MJ once stated he would never had same NBa achievements if Zone was in NBA, but he was referring to real Zone like college and with hand checking, not with not true Zone in today's game due to 3 second rule, no hand checking and spacing. Early 2000 Zone was implemented and handchecking was still present, and an old MJ had no issue with it.. Wizard MJ is underrated for sure ..

In my opinion, this video is what solidifies MJ as the GOAT. He proved that he could dominate in today's NBA, and also had the longevity produce for many more years after the 98 season. If he didn't retire twice in the 90s, he'd also probably be the all time points leader, and hold many of the playoff totals records that Lebron currently holds. While Lebron may end up with the greatest career of all time, MJ is the greatest player of all time.

When MJ would put up those 40-50 point games with the Wizards, it was almost enough to make you cry. At his age and coming off a few years of retirement, it was amazing to watch. It was this nearly 40 year old guy who was literally not just A living legend but THE living legend. When he had randomly had those games where he looked 5 years younger, it was unreal. The guy was far past the peak of his powers but he was still able to do incredible things against people half his age.

Wizards Years with MJ was not god awful, but he was not good either. Wizards Jordan was one of the most inefficient High Volume/High Usage player in NBA History. He had 46% True Shooting Percentage on a 36% Usage Rate. KZbin channels like this only rattles off basic counting stats and Field Goal % that give an inaccurate depiction for how good a player actually was. Jordan's resume with the Bulls was so pristine that it made his tenure with the Wizards is an ugly blemish.

There was a lot of fear going into the first season that he wouldn't be able to play at a high level, that we wouldn't get to witness the old magic moments. But he provided plenty of them. The Wizards were on an absolute tear before his injury and there was a lot of excitement. He didn't end up missing a ton of games but the knee was still a lingering issue all year and I remember him having to get it drained all the time over the next year. It's a shame what happened because after that game against Indiana when he put up 6 points, things turned around in a BIG way for that team. Somehow they were winning night in and night out, and the "somehow" was Michael Jordan still being MJ.

Finally somebody made this video. I watched every wizards game start to finish. The disrespect from today i swear. People dont realize how great the Wizards were(only because of Jordan) before he was injured. That knee clash with Thomas... ill NEVER forget watching that moment live. One of the biggest what ifs in nba history for me. Jordan doesnt clash knees with Thomas = wizards make playoffs, mj win ANOTHER mvp, mic drop on any Lebron/Kobe vs MJ goat conversation of today. That would be the year to bring up. Man it makes me mad at why that had to happen.

I remember having league pass that year (I’m a Bulls fan) and I also watched every game. I would have arguments with people that if Jordan got this team to the playoffs, he should be MVP. A lot of people were on Kidd that year because of the Nets turnaround after the trade, but Duncan ended up winning it. It would have been interesting to see how things would have played out if he didn’t get hurt.

Thank you so much for making this video. I learned a lot. It gets so tiresome hearing people discredit him when he WAS producing remarkably irregardless of his age. The fact is he set the bar so high it was unreachable. And as we have seen in the last dance documentary, they build you up to break you down. They look for any reason to say "he's not that good." Jordan showed that his entire career. Had a few bumps along the way but until there comes another player to perform as well as he did at that age, I don't want to hear the judgements. When you age you get slower. Overall athletically you deteriorate. You need longer recovery times, and you're more susceptible to injury. Maybe it's the fact that Jordan was almost superhuman that people feel the need to hold him to the high standards he set in the prime of his career. But if you have half a brain, and look at the numbers and be honest with yourself, he did not tarnish his reputation or ruin any perfect ending. He played until he couldn't any longer and as he did his entire career, he gave it all.
@MrDavidKord
@MrDavidKord 3 жыл бұрын
There's clearly so much more to it than just the numbers he produced, too. The sheer improvement in both offensive and defensive ranking due to his presence was STAGGERING. CLEARLY the team around him elevated their games when he was on the court. He didn't just carry them with scores, steals, assists, and blocks, he carried their mentality from trash all the way up to a playoff level, possibly championship level. Insanity. On that note, I would have loved to see him and Pipp on the Blazers take on Kobe and Shaq on the Lakers. Phil would have a couple less championships.

Sorry, that's only true from a marketing perspective. Other than that you can't make that comparison. Both guys dominated, both guys dominated in a rather low-scoring era - and Gretzky came out on top being further ahead his competition. He was a genius thinking the game who elevated his teammates while Jordan was more of the amazing two-way player, gifted athlete and ultra-competitor. Apples and oranges but given Gretzky's physical disadvantages and bigger statistical dominance you certainly can only make that statement based on global image and impact, not based on dominance within their respective sports. Grew up a Jordan fan but give Gretzky the respect he earned

Unparalleled Greatness! MJ could have played in any Era, against anyone, Period! Some say they don't believe in G.O.A.T. conversation. There is some merit to points that they make when you factor in players positions 1 - 5, their proposed responsibilities while on the floor and their individual achievements. But when you watch this guy, when you see the way defense was played back in the day when OG's like myself were coming up; I mean you're talking about meniscus tares, arthritis, ribs and other physical issues he had that we're unaware of, his Overall Complete Body Of Work, from the start of his career to the end of it, "Seriously, What Other Conclusion Can Your Draw"? This is to me, the one single Athelete who's whole body of work while playing basketball won't and will never be duplicated! Some of his records, yes, they'll be broken, but if that happens the player that does will have played longer and against much, MUCH Softer defenses if we're talking about offensive accomplishments. Also, think about other Great Players who are considered Elite, not only in Basketball, but in all Sports!🤔 And what they've said about him, in reference to their measuring their standards to his! Based on their commentary, Is There Any Doubt? He was and still is "The Gold Standard", when it comes to those before him, his peers, those he played with and against, and you certainly can't compare ANYONE who's playing now to him, and remember, "I'm Talking About His Whole Body Of Work", not just a certain category. So for me, there is such a thing as "G.O.A.T. Conversation. MJ's the guy!!!!! I also appreciate another very important point that was expressed in this Video! "THAT WAS, MICHAEL JORDAN PLAYING FOR THE WASHINGTON WIZARDS FOR FREE, DONATING HIS CONTRACT EARNINGS TO THE 911 VICTIMS!!!!! It's been said that away from the game, there's a lot more that he should have done, but what you don't realize is, he's done some really Tremendously Incredible things for the City Of Chicago, for The State of Carolina, from disaster relief, to impoverished inner city youth, and all other different types of charities! I applaud his efforts because those are things he's done, behind the scenes, not wanting any publicity, or self acclaim for, and even though there are those who have publicly said he doesn't do enough, he, "Being The Class Act That He Is", isn't foolish enough to be baited into coming out and telling everyone what he's done or his past deeds during his playing days, just to shut up a few naysayers! All of the many who have benefited I think is all that's important to him and in a way, I credit his first wife with probably helping him to see things from the common perspective, not that he couldn't on his own, but our wives help us to see and recognize and do things, giving us insight from a woman's perspective. Excellent Video 👍 my friend! You got yourself a new subscriber today. Keep'em coming.

@@EliVanFleet ageed! I was even hearing about huge contributions to charities as far back as the late 80's when there was this narrative out about him that Nike had him completely under their control, which to me was totally false, considering what other friends and family were telling me who still live/reside in the city. Just because there are causes and unforeseen circumstances that happen to people, that doesn't mean the media and other outlets are ALL KNOWING when it comes to high profile sports figures and what they do with their time, money and resources! There are an awful lot of Atheletes from all sports that do wonderful things around the world as you said, but don't want it publisized. That's their right. Media however, feels that what they do should be up for public scrutiny which is wrong, as if they're the ones who have a right to tell them wether what they're doing is for the right cause or wether it's just or appropriate, when in fact, they don't have any business or involvement with telling them anything. Those that do should instead, worry about their own contributions that they can make to help others, but this just shows what kind of world we live in and how so many feel as though they have a right to judge what you do with the resources you have. If you or I were in their shoes, we wouldn't want to be questioned either. Everyone is given the choice to pursue a career and for those that made it to the highest level of a profession, they should have a right to help who they choose and either, let it be known, or keep it to themselves. Their Right, Their Choice!!!

Ball Smack All charity work shouldn’t be publicized! That’s a testament to his character. He didn’t do it to be seen! Some/most celebrities have media coverage of their charity work.
@cwvos
@cwvos 5 жыл бұрын
@@louiswilliams984 , your right! We also know why certain celebs/atheletes let what they do get covered. Sometimes it comes down to things as simple and immature as bragging rights or one upping someone else who's giving of his or her self. The media, then gets hold of the selfish way or action and dragraces with it until it becomes unimportant to the public, then they drop it and move on to something else. Sometime the media attention does bring awareness, so that others can act and contribute, but in most cases wether it's news outlets or social media, they have agendas as well. It seems that no one stops to think that maybe those who are dealing with something incurable or life threatening or having their life altered by a natural disasters of some sort, would like their privacy to be respected, especially when it involves children. You chalk it all up to, personal triumphs and tragedy's, and how sometimes the roll you play on the outside looking in doesn't always bring the desired outcome, or the effect you hoped it would when the media gets hold of it; Them and their many hidden ulterior motives... That's why I respect MJ and the many other Atheletes 💯% for their keeping things low profile and under the radar, knowing it's not all about them, but what the acts of kindness could do to the privacy of the individuals benefitting. Their showing the beneficiaries that they respect their privacy. Why some people don't get that, I'll never know...

I have to say thank goodness for KZbin. Now we have time to actually analyze things and break them down instead of relying on the media’s narrative. Back in those days there wasn’t social media which is a gift and a curse. But now news stories and things that were skimmed over are now being carefully analyzed. Great job with this video 👍🏽 it’s well explained and goes against the media’s agenda to destroy these years of Jordan’s career without context.

007 Imagine if MJ had come back for the Blazers after they traded Steve Smith for Steve Kerr and Derek Anderson. That team kept flirting with contention, and with MJ, might have had a decent chance of going to the Western Conference Finals that season if everything fell into place. With Stoudamire, Jordan, Pippen, Wallace, and Dale Davis, they would have been solid. They didn’t have Sabonis for this season because he was overseas and had retired from the NBA before coming back for the 2002-03 season.

Many were calling MJ the G.O.A.T. before he even wore a Chicago Bulls uniform. There's another video on KZbin that talks about his run in the 1984 Olympics. He led a bunch of college players to an 8-0 record over the U.S. team was full of professional NBA players and all of them were All-stars. That team had Bird, Magic, Isaiah and a slew of other all time greats who were IN THEIR PRIME but our Olympic college team had Michael Jordan! The pro players couldn't win one game against him and his college squad led by Bobby Knight. Just let that sink in for a while.
