True, NBA WAS my favorite sport to watch now i prefer NFL over NBA, there is no point of watching, its turning like european soccer, only a few teams will establish a monopoly, and they will alternate championships and then 20 years later, you'll see that only 4-5 teams won championship, while the others are just there to fill up the schedule.

I don't think super teams are the fault of the players but on these TRASH GM's and OWNERS. Do what you gotta do to make yourself competitive every year. A third of the NBA talks about rebuilding every year so they don't even try and trade away all their assets for cheap to the super teams. The GM's aren't as competitive as they used to be

@TheRealist1.
@TheRealist1. 6 жыл бұрын
Bro, if I'm rich, and there's an option to go to California, Miami, Houston, or new York... I'm not going to Charlotte, Indiana or Oklahoma City, those teams have to draft well, and overpay. A good GM isn't giving a scrub 30M just because. The NBA is going to have to go back to the drawing board, because you have guys like Durant who get 300M shoe deals, and 10M per year isn't too much to miss out on. John Wall, Westbrook, and other Super Max guys don't have that luxury. Harden does, but he's got faith in his GM.
@13goalkeeping57
@13goalkeeping57 6 жыл бұрын
EliTheRealist1 thts a bad excuse to use tho.. Cuz curry would have happily played in Charlotte yet they wouldve never thought of drafting him... New york and LA would probably be way better team at the moment if it was about marketing... Look how gs built a super team with steph clay and draymond who where player no one wouldve taken in the first 10 picks of a first round.. Now look how everyone probably wishes they had taken even in the top 3 picks... Its about being smart with who u bring and how ur willing to work with the player u bring not about how marketable a city is
@GabeTheGreat
@GabeTheGreat 6 жыл бұрын
Erick Hernandez facts bro. Golden State got good through the draft. They brought in good coaches, state of art training facilities and a great scouts. Look at San antonio. They draft a superstar once once every 15 years and everybody else is brought in and developed. And now they're the most winningest franchise (by percentage) in the NBA. MJ need to get his owner skills up and quit all that complaining.

j 314 As soon as Mike left those teams that couldn't beat MJ advanced further. Knicks/Pacers/Magic etc, it wasn't bc they had a superteam it was bc those Bulls had Mike lol. A superteam was a team like the 80's Celtics/Lakers, mid 2000's Celtics, LBJ's teams post 2010 and these Warriors. Why? Bc they always had 3-4 stars in that team. Pippen was the only all star with MJ. Y'all might as well call those Jazz in the 90s a superteam, those Sonics, Blazers etc.

That logic is very backwards. Look at this way...like a childhood neighborhood game. If I pick the best players and you get bad players then I have the better chance of winning the game. Superteams in the NBA are no different. It doesn’t matter if the rest of the league plays harder, the result will be the same because the leagues best players are basically all on one team. It creates a very unfair advantage.
@IVIUT3D

mcbrideart this is not playground, this is real world competition. If my army has guns and your army uses sticks, you have two choices. Learn to overcome or roll over and die, asking an opposing team to "step down" is taking the cowards way out willingly. If you picked all the "good" players, i would just play harder. You guys need to accept competition is the name of the game and stop crying.

Ayveel Robinson no, unless you got superstars. you can't judge practice to get better against a five superstars starting lineup then a bench that plays close to as good as they do. it's not that simple and you act like it is. Shannon is right. This is all true. And this is where professional sports is starting to lead. And until somebody like Michael Jordan realizes this, superstars and money is going to be the face of sports forever. Powerful people and especially money control the nba as well as many other major businesses, politics, and so many other things in this world. This is all part of the 21st century. We were astronomically different only 50 years ago and have already changed so much as a global society. I can't imagine what the future will be like.

I think that we were spoiled back in the day by the talent on teams back in the 80's and 90's. There were more super teams back then. In the east coast there was Chicago, Boston, Indiana, Atlanta, New York and sometimes Philly. In the west coast there was LA, Portland, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, and sometimes Seattle (Supersonics). Nowadays, there are only about three or four teams like that in the league.

Look at the the Magic, the Hawks, the 76's, the Nets, the Knicks, the Pacers, the Bulls, the Heat, the Jazz, the Suns, the Kings, the Lakers. those teams are gonna be terrible. that's a lot of teams terrible which means the NBA is putting out a terrible product

Interesting that Jordan mentioned this when he does not realize that he was lucky a lot of players did not decide to create a super team to dethrone him. I'm a Jordan fan but let's be real about it if Patrick Ewing would have decided he wanted to form a super team where Karl Malone and John Stockton that would have definitely been fake but for jordan winning the championship. If Reggie Miller would have teamed up with Tim Duncan and David Robinson that would have definitely stopped jordan the championship. If Hakeem going to have team up with the Detroit Pistons that would have been a legit threat to Jordan winning a championship. If Chad would have played with the SuperSonics instead of playing as many years with Orlando could you imagine what that serious would look like against the bulls

MJ Malone Barkley Hakeem Stockton. That's a superteam. Having Pip and Rodman is not even considered a superteam. While it's true that MJ wouldnt have rings without Pip, kids need to understand that all these other players are supplementary pieces. They were not the elite of the elite in the 90s. They were not past MVPs or Finals MVPs. They were excellent role players and that ends there. Compared to these players these days, a lot of these high valuea franchise players are teaming up. Yeah you can make a point that some of them are washed up and injured, but point is, these players made a name for themselves before teaming up together. If MJ did the same thing, or if the other players did to dethrone him,you would see a lineup like Shaq, Penny and Chuck, or Reggie, Malone and Payton, or Hakeem, Mourning and Stockton, Or Ewing, Richmond and Clyde. Is MJ's statement whiney? Probably. But he has every right to feel this way considering all the roadbumps he had to get over before he had this so-called "superteam."

Even the lesser roleplayers were nothing to laugh at. Kukoc, Harper, Kerr. 70 wins in a season, followed by back to back 60+ seasons. 3-peat, no Finals Game 7's. MJ had it good and taylored in the 90's. No other team in sight was half as good. Pippen and Rodman were both highly decorated players. More so than Dwade or Durant at this point in their careers. Check the accolades.

I've been a Warrior faithful for over 25yrs. For at least 15 of those years while Golden State was a constant bottom dweller no one wanted to come play for them. Year after year GSW were never in serious consideration to most free agents. Forget about free agent all stars. It was Andre Iguodala who finally, after almost 2 decades, broke that trend. Now that GSW is a elite team it's only natural that players will want to come. Thats one of the obvious benefits of success. It's always been that way in the NBA.
