DH It's always an interesting subject because it's an arguable one and can go either way because it's a matter of opinion and personal perspective. Choose one, there are a bunch of supporting points for it, choose the other, and there are a bunch of supporting points for it. Jordan is the GOAT for a ton of reasons. One reason is that while Lebron is supposedly the "greatest all around player in nba history" Michael Jordan has the most complete resume in NBA history. Jordan has the stats unlike Russell. He has the rings unlike Wilt. He was the best player in all his rings unlike Kareem, Kobe or Shaq. He took the game globally unlike Bird & Magic who took the game nationally. He dominated the league unlike Lebron who only dominated the conference

@@ccbgaming6994 Yes indeed, I would still call MJ the GOAT. You need to put conditions of the individual performances to the reality of that period and circumstances. Even if a player would not win a single championship but his individual performance is the best ever that person would potentially still be the GOAT. The issue here is he was way better than the best of his era, he was and still is the most creative player ever and I do not believe there will be a more creative player ever. Wembanyama can and most probably will beat everyone in statistics at the end of his career, but put a Kenny lofton JR against him, he will struggle. That was not the case with MJ they threw everything possible at him in his era he still outclassed them all by a mile.

The reason Lebron will never be seen as better than MJ is because of Phil Jackson. Spoelstra was a great coach but he's no Phil Jackson and Tyron Lue, at times, looks like he has no idea what he was doing. Lebron has had to continually lead his team basically by himself to the finals where the other teams are way better than any team MJ ever faced. The Warriors and the Spurs are two of the best teams ever. The Spurs won four championships together and (without even counting the one Duncan won in 99) and the warriors own the best record of all time, before they even got Durant, who will end up being, at least, at top 20 player of all time and is probably a better scorer than MJ. Lebron has had to deal with better team than MJ ever had to face and it's because Jordan had a good coach and a good organization where Lebron has had pretty bad ones. If Pat Riley had coached the heat instead of Spoelstra, not only would Lebron still be there, but I have no doubt he would have seven straight finals and be considered the best player of all time.

I've been saying, there's just a different admiration, respect and charisma when a player wins several championship with his original team or with 1 team. MJ was good, if not great when he was a rookie, Pippen and the rest who joined MJ as a rookie wasn't as good or great when they started. They all were pushed, inspired, bullied by MJ to get better and they got better as a team. LBJ, joined an already established great champion and an already established great player in D. Wade when he won his ring, then he also joined an already established great player in Kyrie Irving. LBJ hasn't won a ring where he helped the team grow and developed as a unit. It was always enhanced through adding other great superstars. Granted, MJ's 2nd 3peat was something similar when they added Rodman, but they were aging already at that time. Remove MJ on his 1st 3peat Bulls and remove LBJ on his Miami championship team, who do you guys think would win in that series if they play against each other? I'm pretty sure most of you would pick D.Wade & Bosh's Miami, over Pip & Grant's Bulls. Point is, Wade and Bosh was already stars, Wade was already a proven champion when LBJ won with Miami, while Pip only developed into a superstar within the Bulls

Okay, he might not surpass MJ in terms of rings, but his career should be highly appreciated. His longevity, outspokenness, pass-first mannerism, is another realm. No. 2015, LeBron lost kyrie and Kevin love, mj has had a lot of help in the finals. 2015, LeBron faced a super team and, again, mj has never faced a team like that, 2018, LeBron was carrying his abosolute trash team. His Game Score total was a lackluster 13.7 - showing that is overall productivity throughout the series was a bit over average

LeBron James, will always be under Michael Jordan's shadow regardless. Michael Jordan, simply upgraded the game of basketball with a carisma so overwhelming that even adversaries couldn't help, but wonder... How are we going to stop this guy?

Agree with Rapaport's analysis. But the one thing I wish he had mentioned was Jordan's obsessive drive to win with the hand he was dealt. With the exception of only 4 starter players (Rodman, Longley Cartwright and Harper) on both 3 peat teams, everyone was home grown. And of those free agent/received starters, with the exception of Rodman, no one was an All-Star or exceptional at their position. Most were drafted by the Bulls. He didn't hop around looking for a super team. He took what he got and made every single player on his roster better. He didn't just make the team better with some arbitrary stat. He made every player on the roster pick up more than they could carry by scrimmaging with them, teaching them and testing them to be the best that they could be. James has never done that. His championships were won with made men: Wade, Bosh, Irving, Love and now with Davis. Bottomline: James finds (or receives) the pieces to win championships. Jordan grooms his pieces to win championships. Jordan= The GOAT

I also wish they would have mentioned the Bulls in 94-95 were 34-31 before MJ came back and finished strong with him at 13-4 and snuck into the 5 seed. They were struggling terribly in season 2 without him and wound up winning 72 games and another title the following yr with him, as well as the next 2, including playing without Pippen for 38 games in 97-98 and still winning 62 games and the title.

Different eras🤦🏾‍♂️ we live in a world where there is a lot more talent in the league in general.. Just like everything else the game is evolving.. Jordan was in a time where there was 1 superstar to a team on average, LOTS more balance then
@tonyf6335
@tonyf6335 Жыл бұрын
@@gspazzthaassassin the league now is much less physical making scoring much easier. There are no physical, larger defenders like Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing, Mutumbo, Mourning, Larry Johnson, Anthony Mason, Malone, Barkley... Centers now are beanstalk hanging out by the 3 point line not clogging the lane making it easy for ANY player to score very easy baskets. Look at the posterizing dunk from 20-25 yrs ago and now. The player then was jumping over or through 3-5 players or a 7 foot tree of a human trying to tackle him to stop him. Now it's over a guy just standing there trying to get a charge. Players stayed on teams or only were one per team because of loyalty to their franchises or they had pride. They wanted to beat their friends and wanted to be the best of the best without question or help. Now they all want easy titles and to make it easier on themselves. It's sad now

Jordan won 3 in a row then his Dad was murdered. He took 2 years off. Then came back and won 3 more in a row. He would’ve won 8 in a row. Yes, would’ve blown out Hakeem. 8 in a row. EASY Edit: I need to add THIS. Not only would he have won 8 in a ROW, if stupid Jerry Krause (well I shouldn’t call him stupid, he’s dead), but if less than intelligent at the time Jerry Krause had not allowed the great Dynasty to be broken up, Jordan and Co. would’ve won 10+ in a ROW. Like , I’m sure 10, but maybe 12 to 13 or 14.........what if’s........

It's also debatable, that if MJ had played that full season and been in basketball shape they'd have won. The next year they went 72-10. It's all speculation but it sure feels like if MJ didnt take the years off the Bulls wouldn't have lost.

Lebron also benefits from playing in the softest era of basketball ever, where if you breathe on someone it's a foul. Jordan played against some of the toughest defenses when there wasn't such a thing as a flagrant foul any time he drove the lane and got hammered each possession.

You'd have to be stupid to think that playing in the NBA was harder than it is now. There is a MUCH higher level of competition now. People always talk about how Lebron conditions himself so well to where he can withstand the durability and longevity he does, but that doesn't just apply to him. In today's NBA you have to offer that kind of commitment to your body and health to even have a chance of playing basketball at a high level. Jordan competed against great like Stockton and Bird, who obviously did not have that same commitment and frankly don't have the skill level to come close to the NBA today. Lebron has been competing and dominating against world class athletes for 82 game stretches for 16 years!! This is while maintaining the longevity and durbality and dominating game in and game out!!! The NBA is only getting harder and more difficult as time goes by and Lebron is the standard for anyone moving forward. This makes him the GOAT imo.

detsportsfan18 this is the #1 fact the younger generation can't grasp ....When Jordan played, he hand to be a Master and have a black belt in Brazilian jujitsu because there was hand checking at that time...today you can't even touch the player. When Jordan played, he also had to have a black belt in Kong Fu if he was even thinking about driving through the lane for a layup or a dunk... Because trust me, the other players at that time did have those belts and were more than willing to show you how they got them. I can't even watch Professional Basketball today because of how soft it is. #Facts
