Well, you have to realize back then noone had cellphones with contacts easily saved in a list. You have to memorize the number or write it down. Steve Kerr at that time was a young bench player, probably not a priority for MJ to know his number.

After the punch, Phil Jackson sent both of them back home, and when Steve Kerr arrived home, he apparently immediately received a home call message from Jordan apologizing for being physical. Draymond on the other hand, after a year since the incident, still think he's the victim in all that.
