I remember this long Esquire article that the late David Foster Wallace wrote about professional tennis in the mid 90’s. The article focused on Michael in a very complimentary way, as well as commenting more broadly on the emergence of power baselining in the 90’s. It’s worth a read! Great to see what a great coaching career he’s had.

I saw Krueger play in Charleston. She slaps it for sure. She reminds me of Pliskova more than the others he’s coached. She has a very calm disposition.
