Karen Devine Sure, just remember, this is the way I interpreted the film and if you or anyone else you know views the film differently, you and them aren't wrong. Basically the idea to the movie is Keaton doesn't know what he wants; does he want to be the big star, does he want to prove he's a true artist, or is it all just for self fulfillment? As he debates this in his head it drives him more crazy plus the stress of the play as well the issues with his daughter result in him just doing what little he can to hold on to his insanity as he just deals with a world he just doesn't understand anymore.

Karen Devine you could say that it is literally about Michael Keaton's career lol, the burden it can become portraying such iconic characters (like batman); even though all those movies become successful there's always that backlash that questions the talent of the person, can they be more than that?

Michael Keaton is just great. He's enjoying himself and all the media back at him, it's awesome. And he's still charming. Birdman was also good. Great comeback. I know he has done more, but nothing worth mentioning for quite a while. Congrats.

Michael Keaton's performance in Birdman was awesome, but in real life, what a humble, sincere, gracious, compassionate, endearing, appreciates-life man he is. And a snappy dresser at that! I luv his light brown suit and shirt. And modeling Calvin Klein as outerware - that would have been a real red carpet moment! (sorry, Doogie-Howser, your recreation of Keaton's Times Square scene did nothing for me)

***** i think whiplash's plot was more straightforward; a guy trying to make it by impressing his mentor who has never been impressed. Birdman was more complex.. a guy trying to take distance from his succesfull past and try to make it in the broadway business without being constantly reminded he was the birdman.. it also has many interpretations of what the story was telling the audience.. so ill stick to my earlier statement and im glad birdman won because of having a better plot, but im more of suspense so whiplash couldve taken the cake if it was up to me
