Michael Landon was an inspiration and example of wholesome living and family values. All of those wonderful and sentimental shows that he played a role in, and especially, Little House on the Prairies, will stay in my childhood memories forever. I wish this generation could grow up the way we had with those examples of courage, strength, integrity and compassion that were depicted in the shows of that era. Very sad that he died so young.

I love Michael Landon, I grew up watch Bonanza, he was my favourite, so handsome. I grew to love him more on little house on the prairie, the family values displayed, was 2nd to none, in highway to heaven, he show us how to be kind to each other. He made a few mistakes like all of us but he was a good man, I was devastated when he died, so young, but you know, the good die young. During this time of world wide pandemic, COVID, I am watching all the re-runs of Little House on the Prairie and Highway to Heaven, it comforts me distracts me from all the bad news of the day...He was loved by most, you know the kind, gentleman he was, just listen to what his son Michael Jr says about him, he was a good man, he is in heaven, resting in peace. TV shows with good family values died with him. Love you Little Joe/Charles Ingalls/Johnathan Smith...The family he fathered on Little House, is the one he wished he had, that’s why it’s so authentic, relatable, to be modelled, thanks for the legacy you left behind, the world is now stopped at a standstill due to COVID, time to get back to the basics. Love you Michael Landon RIP.

Great video! I remember as a youngster I the early 1960's, making a weekly visit to my nextdoor neighbors, who had purchased a color tv, to watch Bonanza. It was so special to view a series program in color at that time. Bonanza scriptwriters did a good job melding the generally lighthearted tone of the show with fairly serious topics and plot developments. Michael Landon's Little Jo was a very sympathetic and likable character. Dan Blocker's Hoss was a truly unique and irreplaceable character.

sorry, i can't speak english. i was 9 years old in 1974. 1076 this series came in a few parts. in the gdr at that time and in black and white television. everyone loved this series.we children didn't understand anything about freedom but it was so wonderfully idyllic. in the 80s to repeat. in the 90s together with my child. the first time in color.in the 2000s there were repetitions and it belongs to me like breathing air. immerse yourself in an ideal world for a short time.the series was also broadcast on some tv stations in the 2010s. i didn't have it. in january 2022 i had to spend a long time in a hospital for a transplant.there i saw the first part of the pilot film for the first time. i cried with joy and the nurses didn't know why.now I still have to lie in bed for many hours and what do you think I'm doing?yes.i'm addicted.addicted to the ideal world from childhood days.yes the waltons also ran in gdr times but only a few repetitions over the decades.I'll be 58 these days and I'm still watching this series. I am saddened by the actors who have since passed away. I would like to express my gratitude to melissa Gilbert.she sacrificed her own childhood to make so many people happy over the decades. of course everyone else too. unfortunately that's not possible and that's why allow me to report here.the google translator helps me.friends wallow with me in good memories and commemorate the deceased with me.i wish everyone else health and well-being......rip m.london rip

Now that Im 65 this program has given me a wonderful sense of people who actually loved God. I can identify with this man and his mom not being well or fit. I know that so well. thank you Mr. Landon for "Little House " and " Highway to Heaven", thank you. You are a kind and genuine human being I know you, have passed away (Years ago). Hollywood should learn from this "SUPERSTAR" because their are none since 2000's. They just think that they are because they make much money and are over paid salaries and they are not that great of actors. Their are only a handful of SUPERSTARS and a handful of talented people. Highway to Heaven was not nearly as good as Little House on the Prairie Now, I'm not saying that was his fault. But he had total control over it, and he did not have total control over Little House. So I'm pretty sure Highway was lesser because of him or his choices.

He was one of the best actors of his time!!! He was most certainly was on the top five list of handsome men!!! Still in 2020, we watch Bonanza. We frequented the Bonanza steak house in our city until they closed. He left us way tooo soon!!!

@kaw boy That's why he was emotionally tormented during his high school years in his "hometown" of Collingswood, NJ...they were jealous of him. NOTHING that ever came out of that small-minded, bigoted, anti-semetic, clan-like town, could ever hope to have the looks, talent and charisma that Mr. Landon possessed, both as a young man and later, as one of the most iconic, beloved actors to ever grace Hollywood.

I definitely looked up to Michael Landon, as I watched Little House on the Prairie for years, re-runs of Bonanza, Highway to Heaven. I love he love for God, family, and especially the shows that were meaningful, heart felt, lastly encouragement. I too was safe of his passing, but looking back it All help shape whom I am today!

Michael Landon one of my all time favorite actor. Hollywood's finest. One thing I noticed about him as he matured from the indelibly handsome young man, to a still handsome maturer man, was not just that his face was looking like a disciple, like Matthew or Joshua. Like the scene on Little House when Jonathan got shot, and he took him tothe wilderness to restore him. The ending sent chills over me.. He always gave 100% in his acting.✌❤🙏

What a horrible mother and such a sad childhood. I'm so glad he survived such trauma, and grew into such a kind and caring man. Of course he wasn't perfect, and I'm sure the issues he had, and the choices he made in his personal life were influenced somewhat by his dysfunctional upbringing, but you cant deny his charisma and talent as an actor. He was a caring, compassionate human being. Rest in paradise Michael 💜

Thanks for posting ...in a different life 80"s when I worked for the Airlines as a FA. Michael and his wife were on one of my flights and what super people they both were. Nervous as hell "because I Knew who he was" was just a great guy and so was his lovely wife. We talked about Coffee and how he was familiar with a company that made the restraint belts on my Jump Seat. Thanks again!

Been watching LHOP a lot lately. Brought back great memories. My mother once told me ML real name and that he was from Collinswood NJ. I grew up about five miles from Collinswood, and am proud to have such a wonderful man homegrown. I knew of his tragic childhood, and read once that he used to run away from his house to play by himself. He would often pretend he was someone else to cope with the sadness and trauma of his life at home. I can't help thinking that this childhood trauma and his pretend "acting" to cope with his circumstances played a great role in ML becoming the awesome actor he proved himself to be. And, that the great family man he portrayed and story lines he wrote reflected his life experiences. RIP Eugene "Micheal"

Reading all of these comments brought up hidden feelings of my sad childhood. I loved watching Bonanza and later Little House and longing for a "normal" childhood. Such a waste of future acts of Michael after loosing him at such a young age. Life socks sometimes. Forever a fan. (>

Great video. Michael was such a huge part of my TV viewing life growing up. My cousin, an artisan blacksmith, created a lot of iron work for Landon such as a beautiful driveway gate that showed behind the Landon family on the cover of TV Guide right after Landon's death. I need to ask my cousin how much interaction he had with Mr Landon in those days.

He always seemed like such a good man and loving father . The Highway to Heaven Series was proof of the kind of programs he wanted the World to see on TV . What a horrible Childhood and yet rose above it all to become a truly amazing Man . RIP Mr . Landon . Your Journey down Heaven's Highway is over .

I remember Michael Landon and now that I have seen and heard more about Michael Landon, I can better understand what kind of a individual he truly was. I watched some episodes of his television shows and watched "The Lonliest Runner" when I was 14. I could "feel" for him. I had an abusive step-father; VERY ABUSIVE! Because, I, too, was a bed-wetter. I am 55 years old now, and "stronger" than I was when I was a lad. I really enjoyed "Highway to Heaven".

I suffered from the same problem until puberty when I finally grew out of it. I always felt ashamed about it, but luckily my mom was cool about it. Rubber sheets and all that. One day when I was 14 she gave me a hug and said, "I told you you'd grow out of it." I sure miss her.
