Michael is 1000% Correct. This was not for the betterment of the team. This was about managements self preservation. This is an owner afraid to pull the trigger. They keep their job for another yr. This is why the Falcons will never be a team that’s in the hunt. McKay is clown show….

1000% wrong. It's not 'self-preservation' because Blank could have moved on from McKay and his team in favor of BB IF he thought that would produce better results. While ATL has been middling since McKay arrived, at least over the last few years the team has produced more consistency and less embarrassing moments than Bill did in NE. And per my note above, Bill floundered the last 4 years with everything in place exactly the way he wanted it, in a familiar organization, with his hand-picked lieutenants (and children)...why would anyone think he'd IMPROVE going to unfamiliar terrain. If he coaches ever again, I'll be surprised.

This is one of Belichik's puppets so I don't take him seriously. This sounded like a personal attack against the Falcons more than anything else. Watch how bias and one-sided his analysis of the Falcons be moving forward.

How long is Bill gonna coach? Who would be his successor? Belichek would have ripped up everything only to coach for a few more years. If he were a little younger, then I would see the point.

Exactly! I’m a Falcons fan and am happy we went with Raheem Morris. I see him having longevity here and building a great culture, can’t say that for BB. BB worked in NE and they had a good run, but now it’s on to something new.

Michael, what was the vision in NE the last several years, including BB wanting to let go of Brady even earlier than he did and go with Jimmy G??? Garbage, that's what. This "greatest coach of all time" shit is wearing thin...Bill won those Super Bowls, no one can take them away, and he deserves credit for what happened in the past - he doesn't get a pass forever into his 70s to be considered still great. Don Shula's record was the epitome of mediocrity in the last decade of his career...should someone have hired him after 1995? What makes anyone think that Bill would do better in ATL than he did the last 4 years in NE? He had a chance in those years to produce in a place where he was totally 'made', everything is familiar, fans and media worship him, ownership is 100% supportive...he failed. But somehow he is going to be better with a new team, a new front office, a whole new life for him??? Give me a break. Bill Belichick is washed up and the whole league sees it. Arthur Blank was probably just interviewing him for recon or as a favor to his agent. The Commanders aren't even bringing him in! That tells you all you need to know.

Yeah! This is Atlanta Falcons issue. WHEN his recent employer JUST FIRED HIM to hire their LB coach AND 7 - SEVEN!!! & neither of the other 2 Openings are even considering interviewing him. Get your head OUT OF Beluchick's arse. When 7 other clubs didn't even interview him, they didn't want this kind of BS to answer to. NOBODY ELSE wanted any part of that control freak that took the Patriots to where they are the last 4 years. For You - it's you're infatuation with a past & not the present. Lets see you answer why the Patriots - that knows him better than anyone else. Hmmm!!

Chiefs, Ravens, Steelers, and Niners are the primary organizations that have a culture based in winning. Each have become consistent playoff contenders. Every other team might have a good year or two out of a decade. Texans and Lions are on deck, but have to do it more than once.

Been a falcons fan for decades. I predicted this hire. He has history with the team, albeit not a very good one. He checks ALL the political and business boxes. I’m sure the players like him and IF they win everyone will be singing Kum bai ya. History says that is unlikely. Blank will always run the team like a business and through McKay. It’s pretty obvious at this point that he desires a ‘competitive’ franchise that makes a lot of $$ and doesn’t tarnish his legacy. But anyone that thinks his goal is a championship is not paying attention

He’s clearly close to Bellichick. The last time the Patriots was in a Super Bowl, Atlanta was there also. He’s saying no disrespect to Raheem but he’s disrespecting him the whole interview. Raheem has won a Super Bowl more recently than Bill. Also, nobody wants to be in a miserable locker room and front office. A lot of Patriot fans dislike Bill.

1. Patriots have been to the Super Bowl and the playoffs more recently than the Falcons and 2. His point is Raheem Morris might be a good coach but there’s a pretty damn good chance he’s not going to be better than Bill freakin Belichick.

Belichick won a super-bowl 5 yrs ago. Only 4 teams in last 5 yrs have won Patriots, Rams, Chiefs 2 times. Guy won 5 yrs ago 13-3…. The rest in that Division Miami 50 yrs ago, Jets 54 yrs ago, Bills never in 64 yrs. Give me a break all of a sudden he can’t coach. Almost all there loses where winnable games . The QB is trash it was not the coaching. Pretty sure the other 28 teams would love to say they won a super-bowl 5 yrs ago. Guy has coached in 12 of them and has 8 Rings… Please
