Michael needed a car and that kid was in his way. He did not need anything in that one house that would have necessitated killing the baby. Let's be real, though, Michael not killing that baby is most likely the same situation as killing kids in the 70's. Audiences would freak the hell out over it, and not in a good way. 2:39 Shortly after Lumpy yells out to his dad wondering where he is, you actually hear a sound that I assume is the dad being killed by Michael, which we see later when Hawkins discovers his body on the opposite side of the bus. Now, this is troubling because Michael would have had to move at the speed of sound in order to end up in the back seat of the truck. But then again, I'm convinced this trilogy's Michael has a sprinkle of supernatural abilities because there is absolutely no fucking way this 61 year-old man can snap necks, tank gunshots and stabs, bricks to the cranium, run over, bludgeoned....yet he keeps on going.
