I think his video editing stems a lot from how to code. You never Do the entire project and THEN troubleshoot, or you're screwed. You make something, test it, add something, test it's compatibility, add something, etc. So he kind of does that with editing I guess.

I believe the confusion of the origin of 'weeb' is coming from the word 'otaku'. "Otaku is a Japanese word that describes people with consuming interests, particularly in anime, manga, video games, or computers."(Otaku | Wikipedia) As far as I'm aware the term has a negative connotation in Japan, but less so in the US. It has definitely been more acceptable in recent years like Michael stated.
