Pretty much the whole Manager/Co-Worker ethic plays a good part here. Michael is a manager during the day, but he tries too hard to be "friends" with his employees to a cringe factor. However at his second job, he's much more lax and comfortable (could be burning out from the day) and is found to be pretty relatable and good company with his co-workers. It shows when his manager shows a more strict and serious presence since he knows hes a boss to everyone and Michael can crack a joke or two and actually be liked for it while his co-workers *invite* him out for drinks after work. Its kind of sad to see the reality of the lives of different positions, but thats the point of it.
