Brilliant, thank you for uploading this. Ive been with Michael on this journey my whole life and his playing still leaves me breathless. What a body of work, from Lonesome Crow til now.

Schenker called my house maybe 6 months before this album, asking for my longtime GF/guitarist to play on his album he was about to do. They talked for a half hour or so. He sent out a tape of the songs and she was shocked that it was acoustic Born Again material, expecting it to be electric rock. She called and reneged.

For me, this is the best of his work. Though this is played with acoustic guitars, it tells and expresses his emotion that he had felt in those days. Every single tune offers beautiful melody played by the true guitar virtuoso. I first got this album at a show on UFO's reunion tour back in '94. And I was lucky enough to be allowed to be in their backstage after the show... Brings me a blast from the past.

I met Micheal years ago when my band was playing the same club and we got along and I went to his show the following night and he was nothing short of a gentlemen. Remembered me and we continued out conversation from the previous night and he told me about his acoustic record and asked my name so he could put it on the cover of his CD. I wasn't sure if it would happen but weeks later I got an envelope in the mail from his manager with the new CD and a nice compliment about my drumming! I've met a lot of famous people in the business but rarely does one of your heroes ever surpass your expectations. The only other artist that made me feel the same way was RJD!

little trivia: the video for Positive Forward was shot in Portugal, Steve Vai has an acoustic song in homage to Portugal, it's called Gentle Ways, in the same vein of this right here, so check that out (every song on that album was dedicated to a country)

I never knew the story behind this album. He sold copies of the album door to door on radio stations travelling by bus alone. Fascinating. And right after this he changed manager so he finally started receiving royalties properly and directly to his own address. According to him that's the story. 🤘

'Never commented on music before---can't say and it is why. I've always loved the Schenkers' riffs and where have i been to not have delighted in this and others of Michael's recordings until my birthday of 2017? Anyway, Thank You, Michael Schenker! Once upon a time we must have shared the same turf, a place from which the shape of the world is exciting from the latest end as a conquest of gladness and a world awareness of peace gotten 'round. First song is nothing short of an inspirational masterpiece. Could have been a hit with airplay. The second an impressive display of technique. After that it pretty much falls off except for some brief passages of interest.

@@kevinkiso9160 I said "falls off" in that the beginning is rather spectacular but becomes less so towards the end. Several musician friends familiar with the album agree as did some critical reviews in media.
