@TonyTheLoneRiderSmith, actually, GM responsibilities were given to Chip Kelly as well. He had more control than Howie, who had the official title. Remember Jason Kelce's post SB championship speech? He said to Howie it was great to work with him again since he had come out of the back office. Laurie gave Chip control. It was a contingency on accepting the coaching position. His ego, desire for control, and inability to put effort into getting to know his players and build a genuine relationship instead of interacting with them according to perceptions and stereotypes got him booted.

Vick played like ass in 2011 and 2012, so even though Chip's ego was definitely a big problem, it wasn't unreasonable for him to make Vick battle Foles for the job heading into 2013. They didn't spend a third round pick on Foles to just be a backup his whole career. He was going to get a chance to start, especially with Vick not playing great for two consecutive seasons. The team's season also turned around that year when Vick got hurt and Foles stepped in. Vick had a few good games to start that year but the team got hot under Foles. He threw 27 touchdowns and just two picks that year.

@TheRealfan127 күн бұрын
Such a great offensive mind? Andy Reid choked in big games. Yeah, get to NFCCG and lose- against Buccaneers, Panthers, and Cardinals, games Eagles were favored in. Blown big leads in Playoffs. He was irritating at times. Not to mention, he hated running the ball, which made Eagles lose plenty of games. All of a sudden, this doesn't become a problem when Mahomes is QB, who hides Reid's flaws. Andy Reid was another Marty Schottenheimer before Mahomes. If they kept Reid for another year or 2, I don't think Eagles would have a Super Bowl title. They don't go through Chip Kelly Era. His offense/playbook was answer for Foles to play great in Playoffs. Chip being GM in 2015 made Howie better at his job and realize he can be replaced if he doesn't do better (2 GM of the Year trophies since then). Lurie doesn't have head coaches be GMs anymore. None of this happens if Reid doesn't get fired after 2012. He wasn't going to change his ways with Eagles. He needed to get fired. Put Andy Reid as head coach for 2017 Eagles, he would have found a way to blow it for Eagles.

The birds are just finding their identity again these past few years after what Chip Kelly did to us. I hate that mf. He traded away my two childhood favorite players in Djax and Shady !!

I’m not gunna lie, chip Kelly’s idea would have work/lowkey worked and in a way changed the league. The only issue was that most nfl players are divas (no offense but ego is a big issue as seen by how it ruined chip kelly himself) not too many players commit to excellence and rely on talent alone. Love Vick but that’s literally why that eagles team didn’t amount to nothing. In a way it’s to be expected with young men in these dynamics but I wish they would just out their head down and just do the job they’re paid to do. In this case Vick was supposed to be the elder wiseman of the team but that didn’t work. Like look at how miserable they are a whole decade later still bothered by it lol like again no defendant of chip Kelly but I’m just tired of guys who are privileged enough to play the game they love as a job just throw it away over ego. In a poetic sense they both destroyed each other when all they needed to do was just trust in the system. And he is a 40 year old still complaining about having to do his job lmao 🤷♂️ chip works in the college lvl because those guys for the most part just do their job.

If a guy has the talent to do something you don’t, you don’t have the right to tell them what to do. At the pro level talents overshadows hard work. Effort isn’t everything.
@soon1429Ай бұрын
@ oh I completely understand but the fact remains, those who truly dedicated themselves are the ones society admires for their excellence. More people will remember Brady in terms of NFL history 2000-2022 era than Vick or djax 🤷♂️ my point remains

Did vick just take credit for nick winning the SB?
@jadenn.walkerr37479 сағат бұрын
Vick acting like he way way better than foles LOL. We were 1-3 with vick then foles came in and saved the season, foles went 9-1 in that regular season 27 TDs 2 INTs. Also, Vick wasn't that good on the eagles in general. He was flashy, that's it. 2010 was his best year and we didn't even win a playoff game. 2011 4-8 luckily we won the last 4 8-8. 2012 we were 3-6 with Vick. 2013 1-3.

Listen people Chip had some flaws and some good points just like any other NFL coach, the one thing he did that's going to bring us a SB soon is Chip was solely responsible for bringing in Coach Jeff Stoutland... currently the best coach O-line/ running gm coord in the NFL. for yrs to come there are current O-lineman former 1st and 2nd rounders on other teams that are not performing well, and have their eyes on enrolling in Stoutland Univ and will be for yrs to come. ok Chip was 10-6 in each of his first 2 yrs and 9-3 in his 3rd yr before the wheels fell off...... IT HAPPENS........... as far as Shady and Deshawn Jackson..... don't speak on what you don't know......... they were both young and just maybe........ they both were involved in some questionable stuff off the field..... HINT - HINT..... those substructions don't happen without the owner signing off on it..............just Look at our SB winning coach Doug Pederson ....... whose about to lose his job with a talented Jaguars team..... go figure..... IT HAPPENS IN THE NFL
