I met Michael Angelo Batio 30 years ago, in Erlanger Kentucky, at a Washburn Guitar Clinic. I got His autograph. He was intelligent, informative, honest, down to earth, and above all Kind! My 16 year old self, became a life long fan. My left arm got smashed in 2005, in Iraq U.S.M.C. I do not play so well these days, with permanent nerve damage. Half my family are military and a salute to you , thank you sir ! I may suggest just keep playing and keep practicing as much as you can , nerves grow back after about 7 or 8 years some. You can try!! Or make up a whole new style OF playing because a lot of famous guitarists had fingers missing Django Reinhardt had his hand Mamed up and he only used two or three fingers to do all those sounds on one guitar

After playing for 15+ years, I tried playing a left handed guitar. I was literally starting from scratch. My picking/rhythm hand had no fretting skills and my fretting hand had no skills in the movements for playing rhythm guitar, though I had also played various percussion instruments for years. Doing what you did there takes more dedication than most people probably realise.
