Do you remember how angry Yhwach was in Episode 2 when Luders (the Quincy whose arm Yhwach first cut off and then killed) told him that 5 days would be enough to prepare for war? This was because he spoke so definitively about the future, so Yhwach saw it as an insult to himself, who could actually do it. This was actually a foreshadowing for Almighty.

Loved this episode.. My man Yhwach is no joke. I was re watching the old anime for the thousand time and recently saw episode 109 and in the end, Ichigo says this in his mind when he was comforting Mariko (Hollow girl) at her resting place: "If fate is a milestone, then we are the grist. There is nothing we can do. So I wish for strength. If I cannot protect them from the wheel, then give me a strong blade, and enough strength... to shatter fate." Really loved this quote from him and it just gives me hope that It's connected to his powers because Yhwach seems unstoppable with seeing the future right now and it looks like Ichigo stands no chance.

To which Shunsui told him that former squad 12 captain Kirio Hikifune was promoted to Squad 0. - Kubo revealed on his QNA "Klub outside" that Senjumaru was once the leader of a band of misfit inventors in the soul society, which Mayuri was also a part of. - Similarly, it was also revealed by Kubo that Senjumaru was promoted to Squad 0 for inventing the Shihakusho, the garment of all Soul reapers. She also weaves all the Captain Haoris. - Kirinji is the only member of Squad 0 for whom we do not know the reason as to why he was made a S-0 member. Yhwach is such an excellently portrayed complex character. His power is near infinite, yet he manages to put out a feeling of no ill intent in his words. This episode is almost entirely new and adds so much context! Can you imagine we went the whole entirety of the Manga without having Yhwach's motive for this invasion, we never got the Soul King's name (tho some people speculated it from Yhwach incantation in episode 25) the fight between Ichigo and Yhwach is better explored here, also iirc Yhwach never used the Almighty against Ichigo until the last fight so this is better so that Ichigo can get used to the powers. I'm SO happy Kubo gets to actualize his vision for the ending as he wanted it with no obstacles (Health or editorial)
