Next time you cut a shroud, place a 2x4 under one end, 2x4 wide face down, to act as a spacer. Raise table saw blade, set the fence, and cut each side off the shroud perfectly

I tried that on a previous build it shatter the plastic and I had to buy a new one. My assumption is that I need a different blade to get a better cut.

@@navigationnowhere on plastic turn the blade backwards... ive done it and it works, its not trying to chop as big of notches with each tooth... just shaves it, but be careful it will also melt it. just slow and easy.

Easy way to get the right measurement for how much to cut is put it in trace a line around next to the ceiling and then take the measurement and run it through the table saw i build slide in bed campers for a living would love to get your opinion on some campers I have built

If you’re still having issues with a leak in the roof just try flexseal I’ve heard it works well in a pinch and holds for a lot longer than you expect

Dude this build series has helped me so much already, thank you for taking the time! The v-notch board was an after thought right, so the plywood on the ceiling isn't necessary for this is it?

Yeah I put 1/2 ply on the roof to be the final painted surface but since I changed my mind to the cedar the 1/2 is now unnecessary. I would have put a sheet of thin ply 1/8 or 1/4 to give a flat mounting surface and then nailed the cedar. I would have saved a little ceiling height that way as well as cost and weight.

I’d say you enjoy building out buses as much as your travels . You could build buses for clients and make it into a full time business if you wanted to.

What measurements are you cutting your cedar since ik its not one long board all the way down

They were originally 8 ft. boards but we cut them at all different lengths. We did that to stagger the seams.

The cedar is 1/4 inch thick the final ceiling height is 6.1

This is such an amazing and excellent job on Ivan the Non-Terrible. You have a great family too. Cristina is very talented as is all the family. Cristina also seems to have a great personality and she is a beautiful young woman, inside and out. Do you have advice on how to get an insurance company to cover the bus? I have the financing. I have a company I want to work with. My insurance agent doesn't have a company that wants to cover bus to r.v. conversions.

not sure why you didn't cut the holes for the LED's to be recessed into, the way you had them done in the plywood backer board.

The only reason was because the cedar was an idea we came up with in the past two videos so the plywood was precut for the lights. We have to back track slightly...

Was "the cedar" an afterthought? I'm surprised you did both plywood AND cedar instead of just "nailers" and then cedar.

It was an afterthought. If I were to just put the cedar in I would just use a thinner nailer or strips that would support the cedar.
