Might have to wait a little while 💀 So this breakdown kind of works as a review too haha 🕸🕸🕸 Anyway, this video also would not have been possible without The Brothers Brick, Hoth Bricks, Jay’s Brick Blog, etc! Their reviews and articles are all linked in the description. If it wasn’t for their prepared reviews, I would not have been able to go nearly as in-depth for this video. I have to say, as a die-hard Spider-Fan, this whole thing is a ginormous love letter to everything Spider-Man. From the movies to the shows to the comics to the games, it's jam packed with references and I've honestly never seen a better set. It looks like a MOC. The references are so clever, from the infamous Spider-Buggy to Peter's office looking like that '60s Spidey meme, they didn't skip any opportunity. It's absolutely amazing and I am definitely gonna try to get my hands on this one

The "Spider-Man no more?" newspaper is actually a reference to the comic "Spider-Man No More". The cover of the comic is that infamous shot of Spidey's suit in a trash can. Spider-Man 2 simply also referenced that comic.

this set really feels like it left just enough out to get another mega set like an Oscorp tower or maybe an Avengers Tower, Sanctum Sanctorum or maybe a set similar to Ninjago city where we can see Peter’s apartment plus a Nelson and Murdock law firm then a bunch of other little buildings stacked on eachother.

The designer, Mark Stafford in a Reddit AMA, gave a broad reason for why certain pieces/elements get reused often, lack of printing & when/where new/unique molds are used. ( he stated that this set originally had planned to have ~60 characters). Paraphrasing his explanation; The main reason isn't solely down to money, but storage/space- at the factory for the individual pieces, each lego piece has to be stored at the factory in a box. Each year some parts are retired and as a result free up some storage space, so each team of designers are alloted a number of boxes to fill, this in part is why they cannot print more pieces instead of having stickers, to replace a single sticker sheet could require a dozens of boxes for storing those parts. He also states that there are other factors more related to production/time limitations as well as other issues that designers don't directly have to do deal with. , just a nitpick but rehashing isn't the same as reusing.

Finally getting Daredevil and Punisher is amazing! It's a shame all of the villains are reused versions, but at least they're mostly implemented into the set well (aside from Mysterio who they could've done some brick built cloud effect for and who desperately needed some leg printing or boots). The designer was asked about characters he wanted to include and he said the original plan was to have the six villains be the original Sinister Six, which I would've preferred, they'd all be reuse aside from Electro who'd need a new helmet piece but I've been waiting YEARS to see them finally make that version since I love that design. I haven't been collecting Lego for a while aside from the odd minifig, so like you I'm okay with most of the reused villains since I don't have most of them, but at least one new one would have been nice, especially since we get 5 (if you count Black Cat) new heroes in this set.

I don't normally collect the marvel superheroes sets, I'm more invested in the star wars line and don't really have the resources or interest to collect both lines of sets. But holy crap this set is amazing and I totally want this set ( Mainly for the Daredevil minifigure cuz he's my favorite marvel hero and I've been waiting for a fig for him forever). It has an amazing minifigure selection, a fantastic build and it's just so damn cool

Even without the exploding window and Sandman bursting through the sidewalk, this would've been stellar. But those frozen action elements really standout and feel like they're straight from a comic book. It elevates the set and makes it so much more unique.

This one I’m picking up on the 26th. I’ve never built a modular and have a huge collection of mostly marvel and Star Wars. This is a must buy, just wish I could get reimbursed for all the custom characters I’ve already made. I have a custom punisher and black cat and blade as well as a bunch of side characters. I’m just happy they are making new ones and teasing future ones (Kingpin, classic Electro, Rhino big fig and Morbius)
