Install English in Red Star OS 2.0 Copy and paste it in to the Konsole. Command 1: sed -i 's/ko_KP/en_us/g' /etc/sysconfig/i18n Command 2: sed -i 's/ko_KP/en_us/g' /usr/share/config/kdeglobals 1. Open Terminal by opening the Run command, then type 'konsole'. Hit Enter. 2. Then execute: 1. Command 1 2. Command 2 3. Log out of user "root", or restart (which comes to your mind first)

This is KDE 3, which did take a lot of inspiration from XP (same time period), but it seems to be very stock, unlike the heavily modified KDE 4 in redstar 3. The XP-like search thing was a feature in KDE3's konqueror.

I think 3.0 looks like MacOS because Un like Apple products. If you look ad a few of the photos of him with computers he is usually sitting in front of an iMac.

That is certainly an older non-Plasma KDE desktop environment. And the office suite from 3.0, was likely a modified version of LibreOffice. Certainly a big mix of modified open-source programs, blatantly copying off other OSes, literally copying over and slightly modifying programs from other OSes. Definitely a cool find though, Mike. Very interesting.

have you looked at the red flag in the bottom right? i know some Operating Systems use that as a language type thing. Also the EN in the bottom means what keyboard it is set to currently. when you get into a text box it can be changed to the korean layout.

Yeah I checked that out and did not see any language options. I think that they just straight up removed all languages except Korean because it's only used by North Koreans.

I already did a video on Red Star 3 and that was the file I used to enable terminal. I also tried to use it in this version but it did not work as well, haha.

Is this OS even real? All the North Korean documentaries I have seen that feature computers none seem to be running this OS. The fact that it's a part of Linux makes me wonder if someone created this on their own.

Fun fact north Korea's computers are technology behind because they have 64 mb ram the design look a computer from the 90s my cheap old computer has 2 gb ram and looks more modern plus the games for the Korean computer have to be government aproved
