I rememeber upgrading from Mac OS 7.6.1 to Mac OS 8.1, (having upgraded from 8.0 in favor of more features down the road) and sure enough IE 4.0 (if I recall) was on the desktop. I still have these OS's for my beloved 7600, I just find it ironic someone made a video about them. What's next, Cyberdog? Apples infamous browser at the time? Good job as always MIke.

Internet Exploder 5.x for Mac OS was actually pretty damn good. From there, the browser went downhill quite rapidly, and this statement can be verified by anyone who was a web developer at the time (Internet Exploder 6.x) having to come up with hacks to get websites displaying properly.

Can I ask a massive favour? Can you please make a step by step tutorial on how to get Kernelex working on Windows 98SE? I apologise in advance for completely changing the subject of the video at hand here, but I can no longer deal with people who explain how to do things, but don't explain where to download the files that you need, what exact version of those files is required, or what to do with them once they've been downloaded. Ironically, the notorious hatred people had of Internet Explorer didn't really start until around the same time this happened. Prior to 1997, it was practically the Google Chrome of its day! Once Microsoft started really pushing it as the "default" browser for both Windows AND Mac, causing not unfounded fears of Microsoft forming a potential monopoly, it's reputation was basically sealed. IE6 only made its reputation even worse thanks to Microsoft's refusal to update it making it look incredibly outdated compared to literally every other browser.

Apple learned a lot since then. Now you get 'Pages' and 'Numbers' for free while Microsoft still charges for Word and Excel ..... Often overlooked in pricing comparisons. The big question is: did microsoft sell those stocks in the meantime?

You don't get Pages, Numbers and Keynote for free lmao, you need to pay for the iWork apps when you buy an Apple Product, you probably bought them before you bought a new mac. Also the apps are only really comparable to G Suite, so underpowered with bad UI. There is nothing intuitive about using them. MS Office actually has substance and you can actually create things on their Suite of products. The two products are vastly different lmao

Hardcore Mac users are probably against Microsoft products, due to their dominance and monopolistic practices of making their in-house products the default applications of their operating system, like Internet Explorer, due to their hate of Microsoft, they were in disappointment when Internet Explorer became the default Internet Browser for the Macintosh platform, until 2003.
