You just missed the part when all The Beatles catalog went to the iTunes and Steve Jobs made a huge event to annaunce it. I remenber this event was clearly a victory event to him.
@DailyCorvid Жыл бұрын
Well it is kind of good for Steve Jobs isn't it... He paid £500M to buy rights to the name Apple. Then licenced it back so they effectively *got it for free* . Think about it, they literally jacked the name Apple from it's rightful holder and then made the victim pay to have it back lol it's sheer brilliance. Not to mention every time they digitally sell a song they make money there too and Apple records have to stick to physical media!! LOL.

Peter Friend 3 minutes ago Apple stole just about everything in the beginning, including its very NAME - the Beatles were there FIRST with their Magritte-inspired Granny Smith, masterfully rendered for record labels and related usage. I don’t give a hoot that Cupertino supposedly “owns” the Beatles’ trademarked version - to me it will always represent great music from the best “par excellence” musical group in the history of entertainment, not some derivative, over-priced computer company.

Merriam-Webster states the "First Known Use of smiley Adjective 1848" However, Franklin Loufrani in 1972 "legally" trademarked "smiley." Today if you use the TAG "smiley" on an online marketplace for your original work, The Smiley Company LLC. may do a takedown for the product even if the product has NO ubiquitous yellow "smiley" face on it.
