i removed the air box lid and re-jetted the carbs on my 660... it gained a good amount of power. you should look into removing the lid on the 700. It don't look as restrictive as the stock 660 snorkel but i bet it is still a decent gain to be had there.

Michael I have never ridden a Raptor, How much different is it compared to a Banshee. And if you had to pick one which one would it be? For just all around use in general.
@MichaelSabo2 жыл бұрын
They're quite a bit different man; I'm not sure I can describe a Banshee, if you ever get a chance to ride one, I'd take the opportunity. I will say this, a far as geometry and handling go, they're not the best but they're very fun to ride and depending how you mod them, they're super fast. For all around use, I'd say Raptor 700 is probably the way to go unless you're die hard 2 stroke.

@MichaelSabo6 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what kind of riding you do and if you like the feel of a 2 stroke. It is a much different experience. Banshees can also be temperamental; if you dont know your way around a motor, it might be annoying. All in all, they're an awesome and fun machine when they're running right.

Kinda late but what year Raptor is this ? Thinking about getting one..
@scyzor1235 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, i have 2008 Raptor 700 which has a rusted exhaust. I bought a slip on Yoshimura straight pipe that i'm going to install. Is it necessary to change the stock Ecu? I am leaving oem headers.
@MichaelSabo5 жыл бұрын
You might be able to get away with just the slip on, but you risk running the engine lean and you wont get max performance. There is usually a fuel optimizer that goes with the exhaust or you can get a custom programmer or ECU.
@scyzor1235 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelSabo Thanks for your advice. I couldn't find any O2 sensor on the exhaust in the raptor so the ecu will not detect leaner mix. The pipe i bought was removed from Suzuki Gsxr 600. Do you think that preloaded maps from a Power Commander Pcfc would do the job?

I do turn them off eventually; sometimes I forget. Probably just habit; most of my bikes don't have a key ignition.
