One thing, Im a machinist that has repaired/made tapers, never oil a tapered shaft. It causes it to never tighten and the reason for tapers is the taper holds the flywheel from spinning. That oil/grease will cause sheared keys and more damage.

To be honest I like the teal color you picked better than the vitos... that being said it is a resto build and whatever is closest to oem should be used, even if you can find one single shred of oem plastic even if it’s beat up and useless just for a side by side comparison that would be killer!! Keep up the good work my man!

Nice job on your build!!! I use to do all my own port work. You can make it run ok, but absolutely not optimal. I now have CNC cases, cylinders and head. It's crazy the extra horsepower you make by being able to perfectly have the right amount of material gone and shape of the 3 pieces so matched up as one.

Really cool to see how nice the Vito's plastics are. I dealt with Vito himself back in the day when they were just a small engine shop with one of the little black and white square ads in the back of dirtwheels and 3&4 wheel action. He took the time to talk to me about banshee and blaster build philosophy and explained the thought and engineering that went into his Vito's power pistons. We ran one of them in a customer's Blaster and it made a huge difference. Really cool to see they are still in the game and have branched out as far as plastics which is a huge deal. I wouldn't know where to start! Awesome!

As in many cases, life and family must take priority over hobbies but the one thing that has kept me going and pushing to finish my build is watching your videos. I have taken many of your reviews and opinions on products to help my setup be the best that I can make it. Keep up the great work and keep two strokes alive.

Exhaust bends and types can absolutely make a huge difference. Prior to owning a banshee had a blaster with full fmf exhaust. Well I crushed the silencer doing wheelies with no grab bar… 🤦‍♂️ for some reason I replaced the fmf muffler with a pro circuit unit and just THAT made a noticeable seat of the pants difference while sounding better than before. 🤷‍♂️. They were tough to mate up but it worked and the machine was a touch quicker without a doubt. I bring up the blaster because it’s the only machine I’ve ever mixed or matched pipes on.

My dad actually bought a 4mil for 1800$ and a box of qll the stock banshee parts. We didn't know it was a 4mil when we got it, cus the clutch was smoked so we couldnt ride it. Also the old owner didnt know either. We found out after my dad tour down the entire engine trying to figure out why the oem yamaha clutches where getting smoked so quickly after we would replace them. After we found out we put it back together and put a recluse clutch in it. We pulled that engine out to put in a homemade side-by-side build and sold the bike as a rolling chasis.
