I love how in the he always talks about how he's not a professional in the beginning before doing it better than anyone I've ever seen. (Unrelated) I own a 92 honda fourtrax 250x and I've done a lot to get more power but I was wondering if anyone has experience with those like $300 - $500 big bore conversion kits and if there any good?
@JoePhounders2 ай бұрын
Keep it stock. I've always said if you want more power, sell what you have and buy a bigger CC bike. Big bore kits are nice, but repairs are inevitable. Cheaper to purchase a bigger bike than spend the $ repairing old parts.

Tip on the case bolts, cover bolts, any kind of bolts like this: All the bolts have the same amount of thread engagement. If you have different lengths and you dont have a diagram, you will know you have it in the right hole, if every bolt sticks out the same amount. So for example, you put a bolt in and the head sticks out 1/2" or whatever, and the next hole you put a bolt in but it bottoms out or has 1" sticking out, you know thats the wrong one.

Another successful build Mike! You gotta get a 04-05 trx450r kicker next!!!! Then a comparison first to a stock 250r and then mod them!

That would be a cool comparison to do.

Hey Brother just got a phone so I can finally comment , little brother hooked me up with a smart TV so I have been able to see some videos , sadly I lost my bikes .... time for a new start , and reason I'm leaving this comment is because I like your build , the neon , just change one of the fibers to tusk ..... and remove the silly adjust thing ........ lol my opinion 😅

One exhaust cam lever is wider because the auto decompression runs on that one.

Micheal i need help. So i have the same bike as you, and i also bought the same fmf. Yesterday i tried to put it on but it's not fitting properly on the exhaust manifold. I'm starting to think that the exhaust manifold or the fmf are bent somehow; beacause when i tried to put it on, on the "clutch side" of the bike the manifold was not fitting all the way in, but on the other side it was making a lot of resistance to fit in place. What should i do?

Dude how do you get that Yamabond off your fingers? It stays on for like a year.
@MichaelSaboАй бұрын
It does sometimes stay like paint. I use lacquer thinner which is really bad for your hands, but it does get it off.

Hey Mike i was wondering if you could give me any advice about my kfx 450r, it's getting spark, fuel, and the timing marks are lined up but it still won't run. The only thing i haven't checked was compression but it only has around 10 hours on a fresh top end so i wouldn't think thats the issue. If you have any idea please let me know, thank you.
@MichaelSaboАй бұрын
The KFX can be tricky in my experience. If you're popping/backfiring, I would double check your valve clearances. Otherwise I would go over all the wiring and if you have the luxury of a friend with one - try swapping CDI boxes and seeing if it starts. I would lean towards some sort of timing/electrical issue only because some of the early KFX450Rs had issues and even if it's a newer unit, you never know what was swapped unless you've had it since new. I hope this helps, and good luck!
@lancynwheeler3545Ай бұрын
@@MichaelSabo thanks Mike , turns out it was the valves, couldn't even get a .2 mm feeler gauge under one of the exhaust valves and the intake wasn't any better😂

I have a question, so everytime I try to start my bike it starts for like a second or 2, rattles, then it shuts off. The rattle comes from the bottom end but I'm not sure what it could be, would u by any chance have an idea of what it could be maybe? It's a 2004 yz250f

Man... that could be a lot of things. It's really hard to diagnose without seeing/hearing it in person. Wish I could be of more help.

Completely not impressed with all the plastic gears I've found in all my modern motocross, ATV, UTV and Harley Davidson engine rebuilds. I just repaired a 1995 John Deere 320. 20hp Kawasaki engine. It had a plastic cam gear that sheared off 80% of its teeth. Absolutely ridiculous. 👎
@MichaelSaboАй бұрын
It is surprising to find plastic in places you'd expect metal. Definitely cheap.
