I searched out about 15 movies that I would like to have watched again. Not a single one of them was available on Netflix.. so I started searching through the movies that were available.. mostly new movies that were a year to five yrs old… so I gave a few of them a chance, it was worse than trying to sit through the Ice Capades. I did not make it 10 minutes through any of the newer movies. Flying dinosaurs, little kids saving the world, completely unbelievable and unrealistic scenarios.. I have had KZbin premium for a long time so I’m keeping that at 17 a month. With fios, The router and extender are included free. In fact it was more expensive to go down to the next plan of 400 mbps because router was not included. I tried KZbin tv, but with a surround sound setup, the sound was not good- didn’t even support 5.1. Hulu sounds much better and has a very clear picture. We got all of the channels we were looking for except one. And the only premium channel we might pay for during a specific show is hbo for 15 and since my sisters’ families want to watch it as well, we will split that cost. We will see how it works out long term! Fios tv is just too expensive to get the channels you want. Xfinity pricing is better but it goes up and it’s under contract. I did it, dropped cable TV, got a TV antenna to watch local TV stations for important weather and other news and shows. Picture quality is much better then cable which is less than 2K, your cable screen is filled with station notification and channel numbers, makes the screen viewing area slightly smaller than Antenna. I’m saving $81 a month; TV antenna cost me $75, it payed for its self in the second month. So far I have PLEX, Crackle -owned by Disney-, TUBI, and yes PLUTO, even it’s pr-recorded shows still have fun watching a marathon of Mission Impossible TV show originally shot on 35mm film with absolutely rich colors. KZbin has everything you missed but with ads, I don’t have a problem with that. The only thing I’m paying for is Netflix but it’s through family and friends program. Disney plus has that as well, they have a good library of National Geographic shows if you like. With cable TV You are stuck with wherever they offer in that package, with a TV antenna you get channels you don’t even have on cable, and if you a Samsung TV they have their own free streaming channels added to the local antenna.

The cable companies (particularly Comcast) are savvy to the cord cutters and plan to add usage charges in 2022. I was told for tier one internet which is 25 mb/s the included cap will be around a 1.2 tb data limit per month and then billed per gigabyte after that. They will eventually get their money one way or another. Until there’s more competition we’re at their mercy.

I have never gone over like 600GB because I don't spend my life on the couch or in front of a computer. BTW, they charge $10 for 50GB blocks over 1.2TB, they do not bill in blocks of 1GB.

We have our choice of 3 cable companies in our corner of Delaware County, PA. RCN, Verizon and Comcast all provide service here. We just switched to Comcast because RCN was charging us $300+ a month. Comcast gives us internet, a landline, and DVR cable TV service for 2 TV's as part of their triple play for $185. I was surprised to discover Comcast allows us to access many streaming apps on these 2 TV's, even though one of them is NOT a smart TV. (I don't know what it's called when the cable company provides the internet apps through their cable or how long Comcast has been doing this.) We have 3 other TV's that use the Xfinity streaming app for live TV via our WIFI to get all the same stations we get on the 2 TV's connected to the cable. 2 of those TV's are Fire TV's and the other has Roku built into it. So we can access HBO and HBO Max for free along with a bunch of other free streaming apps on these 3 TV's. We are both retired and spend a lot of time at home but we both have VERY DIFFERENT preferences for what we want to watch. I watch a lot of local Philadelphia sports war movies, KZbin DIY videos, war movies etc etc. And she watches a bunch of stuff that I would NEVER want to watch. For me to cut the cable and spend a lot of time trying to analyze all the costs of a bunch of different costly streaming apps wouldn't make any sense, even if I had the time and patience to do that. Most people that have traditional cable are also getting Netflix, Disney bundle and possibly HBO anyway. So really we are just comparing cable to KZbin. Subtracting the $100 cost of cable and substituting the $65 KZbin TV is a savings - apples for apples. I have Verizon and when I canceled the cable portion of it they did not raise my internet rate - that stayed at $50 a month. However, I choose what the $65 KZbin TV charge was too much when it went up so dropped that, got CBS All Access and a few free TV apps, plus some sports channels that don't charge. I now pay less than a hundred bucks a month including internet for everything I want.

I cancelled my cable years ago and have never looked back or regretted it. I get as much as I want to watch and more just with my over the air channels and now with a smart tv and there's more than I could ever view. I've save a bundle of money in the process.

Even if you have cable, you have to pay extra for those channels...thus making it WAY more expensive...so if you cancel cable and just pay for Disney, hulu, what ever...way cheeper!

I was a spectrum tv customer . TV & internet at $137 per month on S.S. budget so I cut TV but now internet cost me $75 per month with a indoor apartment tv antenna. I have a vizio smart tv. Can I reduce the bill more ? Thanks

$75 for internet seems pretty common (a little high but not too bad) and you’re saving with the antenna. Have you downloaded any free streaming apps on your Vizio?
