Great review Michael, I agree with you it is a great lens and one of my most used. I do a lot of night photography around the CBD of my hometown Brisbane and it is ideal for this. I have just updated to version two as I am trying to get a kit of wr lenses. The bonus for me was the numbered f stop ring as this continually frustrated me on the old version. I like to look down at my settings rather than in the evf or screen. The new numbered f stop ring is clear and clicky, so no real chance of moving the f stop unintentionally. I think the new version is a good upgrade for these reasons as well as others you touched on, my guess is you will upgrade as well !! Thanks for sharing some of your great images.

Hi Tony! I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I have NOT tried the 8-16mm. The main reason is price for me. Also, some of the initial reviews I saw (have not checked lately, though) were not terribly impressed. I might have to rent one some day to see for myself :)

Thank you very much for your review. A question: Don't you think this lens works best with older Fuji bodies? I have noticed that mine is shaper with 16 MB bodies ... and with newer bodies (over 24 MB) it is less sharp and has more distortion .

Have you used filters with this lens? Can you use circular polarizers or variable nds? My major concern about purchasing this lens is that if I can’t use all my filters I won’t buy it.

Hi! Yes, I have used filters with this lens. It's a 72mm filter thread. I've used circular polarizers and variable ND's. Be careful with the variable ND's (on any lens/system) as the ones without a hard stop at either end will tend to give you an "X" in the middle of your screen where the polarizers in the ND filter overlap. Hope that helps!

Going to Scotland soon. Can I get interior shots in low light with it and my XPro3, or should I use my XH-1 if the stabilization between the XH-1 and lens is additive? I wish my version was WR.

I've used my 10-24 in London cathedrals and other building with X-T2 (back in 2018) and had great success. So, either camera should work well with the 10-24. Hi, Thanks for this review. The lens seems bulgy, which makes me think it won't accept filters. Is there some sort of adapter ring to put some distance between the lens and an eventual filter?

Hi! No adapter needed for filters. I use screw on type filters directly with this lens. Happy holidays!

Hi! This lens does not have a front bulge that requires an adapter for screw on filters. I use it with neutral density and circular polarizer filters quite frequently! Hope that helps!
