He was too good for the audience. They completely missed his beginning. And his brilliant end was met with polite applause. Michael, even though everything you did went over their heads, We appreciate the mastery you showed. Very well done, Sir!

I always thought the Magic Castle was filled with people too posh to act a fool when they see a “magic” trick. Being impressed doesn’t require any noise making until the end when you politely clap. These people are use to attending recitals and operas where you hold the applause till after the performance.

I agree with the sentiment. It was a much better performance than the audience indicated, but, as some others have mentioned, you have to understand the venue. At least some portion of this crowd probably knew exactly how most of it was done, so wouldn't have been astonished. They no doubt, and no less, certainly appreciated the skill involved in performing it so well. I have personally gotten some really excited responses out of random people, and I would love to think that one day I could perform well enough to get that response from that crowd. Look @12:27 at the look on the guy on the left. That is better than astonishment. That is true appreciation.

I come back to this video every now and then. Still amazes me each time. Also, the way you weave humor into your act in a way that lifts up the participants is wonderful. So many entertainers put down audience members in order to make a joke, but you elevate the experience when you interact with people. Lifts me up as well just watching. Thanks for doing that.

That being said, I prefer this more serious, classic genre of magic that Michael does so well; Ed Kwon does a very nice job with this genre as well. @@MichaelVincentMagic @Michael Vincent Oh no, Mr. Vincent, Sir. I'm the one they should be thanking You. I mean the level of artistry and skill you put on display here is beyond amazing. I'm at a loss for words honestly. The first act with the 3 card shuffle was absolutely elegant. Even butter gliding over ice isn't as smooth as your version of the 3 cards trick. And even though I can't see any slight of hand or see any hint of how you did it. At least I can deduce how the 3 cards had to travel. And that makes me appreciate the trick a lot more, well knowing what had to move where and yet I still couldn't see it. But the second act - the 40th card, that's just next level. I have zero clues how it could be done. Hell if it was me I wouldn't even trust the volunteer to count correctly to the 40th card (not that they couldn't but yes mistakes happen, and I'd never risk it, who knows? What if he grabs 2 cards by accident and it ruins the trick?). It raises so many questions. I still have no clue what's the final trick. As the 40th card trick is just too much for me. I like to think I did see plenty of magic tricks, I'd never dare to call myself an expert, but I like to think I'm slightly more difficult to fool than the average audience. But the 40th card trick is making me question everything I ever knew about magic and cards. That is simply the pinnacle - the God tier of stage magic. (honestly last time I was so awestruck with magic was when I was five years old and my Uncle showed the separated finger trick - the one you do with bent thumb and make it look like part of your index finger is separated). Thank you sir for the wonderful experience and the impeccable display of what can be achieved with decades of training and a truly elegant presentation.

When he initially inserts the red cards back in the deck they are controlled to the bottom. He palms with his left hand and puts them on the bottom of the blue deck once he takes control of it. False shuffles and false cuts, he double lifts and places face up on the table.
