Wow, I keep seeing this same statement in 'Faithfully' comments. Ditto! That line is unique - never seen it penned in lyric or prose before. Very evoking and a beautiful expression. Faithfully is tied with the top two best pop love songs ever, IMO. The other is Chiquitita by Abba (IMO)

@@leslieduncan2405 begging no offence, but Freddie’s voice was a hit or miss. His range was definitely bigger than Steve’s, but his higher register was sometimes breathy and pitchy. Steve’s were always full and smoky. Isolate the vocals from Bohemian Rhapsody and you will hear Freddie’s voice being pitchy.

I agree. I grew up with 70s and 80s music as the soundtrack of my teenage years. I think when younger KZbin reactors started discovering "my music," I realized that I'd been given such a gift growing up with that music and never realized I was living through history. I see Queen at Live-Aid, my very first concert was Styx, Journey, Foreigner, Madonna, Michael Jackson and on and on. It seems like yesterday, but also the lifetime ago that it was. That's part of the reason I like reactions, I think - it brings the magic back to music I've taken for granted most of my life. 🎸🎵🎙

As a child when video games first hit the arcades, I vaguely remember a video game with Journey's name on it. That has to be some sort of pinnacle, LOL! The funny thing is this, I was too young to be allowed to "touch the knobs" on the Hi-Fi (too funny to actually type that now) and my parents listened to country and easy listening, so I didn't even know about Journey at the time. Not until I got one of their greatest hits cassettes after they had already gone their separate ways did I realize how great they were!

I agree Michael! I was born in 1960, so most of my music listening was done in the 70’s. We had no clue back then that what was rock n roll then wouldn’t last forever. It seems like the more bands could do with the age of computers, the less they did themselves! Music these days with tunes that are “adjusted” by computers just don’t hold a candle to what I grew up with! Back then, there was a certain vibe that came with the whole rock n roll experience that simply doesn’t exist anymore. I feel lucky to have grown up when I did‼️

In the 60s, 70s and 80s, music wasn't just about entertainment. It was about exposing and expressing our common struggles, joys, gifts and happiness as one. It was also our therapy. It healed us because therapy was only available to the wealthy, not the common man. It truly brought us closer together than any laws or political efforts did during that time. Today's music, for the most part, emphasis on 'MOST', is culturally disengaging.

Journey had their biggest commercial success between 78-87, when Steve Perry was lead vocalist. Saw them live a few times and they were even better on stage than on record. Steves' voice is one of the best I ever heard live and I saw most of them. Enjoyed the reaction.
