This, ladies and gentleman, is a good illustration of context. Same lyrics, but when a more mature lady who has seen more of this world sings it, it resonates so much deeper. Oh and the presentation makes it more meaningful too.

The original song is a beautiful song in its own right. This version is also beautiful. I don't get why people have to diss the original - because it's popular? Because it's from a boy band? Don't get me wrong, she's a phenomenal singer, the musicians are amazing, the expression in this cover is outstanding, and I heartily second your BRAVA!. But I keep seeing this assumption that people who like and listen to pop music don't know 'good' music when they hear it. It's so snobbish and unfair, especially when I know more than one classical musician who can whip out Rachmaninoff one second and then is happily grooving to Lady Gaga the next. IT'S OKAY TO LIKE 'EM ALL, PEOPLE. :P

++VengefulKBM I still don't like the song although it is well sung and arranged. Basically, I don't like the melody. There's no hope for me on this one. Now Miche singing Sweet Child of Mine or Haley Reinhart singing Seven Nation Army and you're in a different ball game. Even Britney Spears' dreadful Oops I Did It Again is transformed and by PMJ and Haley's vocals into something very fine.
