Honestly this is one of the best channels on KZbin

This one is particularly dear to my heart. I learned of the Bruges Madonna in an Art History course in college and swore I'd see her one day. Thirty five years later, on a quiet morning alone in the church, I kept that promise.

Utterly stunning. I immediately thought of Bernini's incredible sculptures that also took my breath away. What an unfathomable talent Michelangelo was. And what an experience it must've been for him to go from sculpting the pietà to this piece of Christ as a chubby, curious child... Proud of myself for linking Jesus' pose to his future, where his destiny always pulled him away from his mother's safety. Whatever 100 ducats was worth back then, it wasn't enough.

As always, great video. My professor Kelly from TCC introduced me to this channel back in 2019 (we often had daily assignment worksheets for class). I remember falling in love with the story telling, editing, and the enthusiasm you guys have for history. While I wasn't good at it myself, I had a great prof with cool resources, I often found myself revisiting much of your videos to brushen up on my knowledge in art history long after the class ended. It gave me a much bigger appreciation towards art. Here I am now, an elementary art teacher, still fascinated and occasionally watching your content at the end/beginning of a week while I eat dinner. Thank you for allowing me to fall in love with history, even if I've always struggled in that department :)

What a lovely note, thank you for reaching out, it means a great deal to us. And good luck with your students, art classes are so important especially in the elementary grades. I am sure you know the profound impact a good teacher can have.

Thank you for this great video! The Taddei and Pitti tondos would be interesting comparisons.
