Michele Waterman is a writer, certified professional coach, and mental health advocate with a focus on the personal empowerment of women looking to ignore a world that constantly tells them they are not enough. While her twenty-five years of experience as a high-performance sales exec and nonprofit founder equipped her with skills as an exceptional communicator, it was her own struggle with misdiagnosis and subsequent psych med injury that made her the fierce champion for informed consent she is today. After spending the past five years reclaiming her life from the grips of iatrogenic harm, she is now pursuing a MSW from the University of Denver, so that she can better fight for social justice for those similarly impacted by the little-discussed dark side of psychiatry-a topic she explores in depth on her illuminating podcast, Real Joy Recovery.
To learn more about Michele, you can visit her website at michelewaterman.com. You can also find her article The Breaking Point on Mad in America, which describes her 16-year journey on a multi med cocktail and how she got free.

I literally feel all of this- every emotion, every tear. I feel so deceived. 30 years on these meds, currently tapering. Thank you Michele and Angie for telling these stories. Watching the stories of those who have walked the path ahead of me is helping so much.

Thank you Angie for inviting Michele as your guest to your show. Listening to people who had first hand experience dealing with iatrogenic injury due to use of psychotropic drugs specifically Benzodiazepines and antidepressants is so relatable for those, myself included, who are or have been severely injured by these poisonous medications.

Oh, so true. How do you accept that a "doctor(s)" has Destroyed your entire life? (See "Do No Harm"..). It's mind-blowing the damage they have Knowingly inflicted. I will Never Be Who I Was Before. My story is Very Severe physical damage also inflicted by these drugs, in addition to to Severe mental, emotional and physical Suffering. How do they live with having so severely destroyed so many people? I struggle with even contemplating living the remainder of my life like this...(insert swear words).

Fantastic video, I've just found you today Angie. I've 4 months and 2 days into protracted withdrawal from mirtazapine, I'm currently in a wave but thankfully I've started experiencing windows recently. I agree with Michele, problems can start in the womb , there's a Christian teacher called Derek Prince who explained rejection can start in the womb, we're spiritual beings not just flesh and blood. I just want to say a massive thankyou for making these videos because it's a lonely time healing from these meds

Michele, really appreciate how you have expressed yourself…swearing and all. Lots of energy, and I feel a bit of a fire in my belly I haven’t felt for a long time. All I have felt is my life force being drained as I, like many, endure a horrific, long-ass taper. And, although I am very sensitive to over-stimuli, your words, along with Angie’s, have stirred something in me. Your articulation is impeccable and real…appreciate the raw truth expressed as you have. You can’t discuss the insidiousness of this without dropping F bombs…not in my opinion. Not done watching yet…I take breaks. But, this has been refreshing so far in a very bitter-sweet way. Much Love to You Both. ❤😅😮

It's "normal" for all of us to Lose a whole lot. Yes, same here. If I were to make a list if everything those drugs cost me, I would be writing for weeks. A TON OF MONEY. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS! AND THAT'S JUST THE MONEY! SEVERAL DECADES OF MY LIFE!

Thank you and AMEN! I am also going through hell rigtht now because of psykmed and I have to say speaking of hormones, that I also have been traumatized and poisoned by hormonal treatments for menopause wich fucked up my body and mind even more than I was before, which I also did not be informed about could destroy both mind and body totally!!! It started hell which was the reason why I was put on psykmeds even though I was scared to death to put anything in my body, but I was soo suicidal so I endet up doing it anyway.......long story short. Now I am sick both mentally and physical being on the meds (stopped hormones), been gasligted etc. The bottom line is: I am sick and tired of professional doctors, who do not have a clue, what they are doing, when they put people on all sorts of meds, hormones etc, which is to blame the healthcare system in many countries!!!! Thank you so much for putting this out Angie. I survive on your videos! Thank you BOTH for your stories. It means SOOO much ❤

Some great content here. But this lady needs to slow down. I personally found this interview very one sided and triggering. Please don’t be offended , maybe it’s just me being very sensitive to fast talking people. This lady is very intelligent and well - informed and would be a great advocate - but just slow down. A good therapist needs to be calm . Maybe this is just passion, anger, frustration being let loose. Such a great interview but needs to be slowed down so we can can grasp these truths. So many subjects covered here though. Just my opinion, of course, ❤😊
