I truly think beauty influencers have forced beauty companies to wake up and put out quality products. Just based on your palettes that ranked low on your list that were powdery and had no staying power, consumers bought them and when they didn’t perform, we assume it was user error. Nowadays there’s no hiding behind the name...if you put out crap for $80, you get called out on it and consumers will not purchase it. Influencers have saved me a ton of money over the years. Thank you for all your testing and reviewing Michele, it’s so appreciated.

I got the Enigma palette in 2010. Heheh. I had seen a pixiwoo tutorial using this and I bought the palette and practised the look Sam came up with so many times so that I could recreate the look for a family wedding. Surprised to see none of the original quads that came out with when Chanel reformulated on the list: Tisse Rivoli, Tisse Cambon, Tisse Camelia etc. My favourite of them was the now-discontinued Tisse Venetien (it had the surprise combination mentioned with pink and green). And to this day Tisse Rivoli is my most used super-neutral-but-not-boring gorgeous brown everyday palette.

I loooved code elegance . I like they smooth over my eyes and don t make them look wrinky at all. Over primer they resist all day. But they are very creamy not dusty at all. The brown maybe but i actually like the way it helps me dampen the outer edge in two moves . I can blend them even with the sponge in a pinch. I loved it so much that i bougut blurry green next. And while i admid blurry green is even creamier to touch and on the eye the performance of thhe look ia similar,

Agree with what you said about the flower quads, looks just like kids makeup. If you like the colour story of the 358 one, you should check out CT Uptown Girl quad - probably my fave out of all her eyeshadows! Gives such a subtle, pretty everyday look despite the fact that the palette itself doesn't look very interesting xx

Thanks so much for doing this video! I only have a handful of Chanel palettes, and this was a nice reminder of which ones I want to check out. My biggest problem with a lot of the quads is that 2 of the shades always look so similar in the palette so I tend to just put them in the mental "no" pile. However your swatches really help bring out the different nuances between the similar looking shades. I don't feel like I need to get them all, but there are definitely a few in your top 10 that I'll be putting some real consideration in.

Great video Michele ❤️ I picked up 2 of the Les indispensable palettes and 2 of the Lumiere Naturelle palettes. They are my all time favourite Chanel eyeshadow palettes. I also love Clair obscure and I feel like I should get a back up as Chanel is known to discontinue products with no warning. They’ve just replaced all their natural hair brushes with synthetic ones. I don’t have the Modern glamour palette but now I’m thinking I should get it.

Wonderful collections, I bought blurry mauve as my first palette from chanel and it's my first eyeshadow palette too,I dont understand the color story,when ever I try to apply it mauve colour looks grey to me its disappointed me straight opposite is les indispensable and les ornaments I loved both,I used les indispensable to the core, a year after its lost it originality ,gold color become dull,its time for me to dispose,I love les ornaments till now.apart from my opinion,I love all your collections thanks for sharing.

I decluttered my Chanel eyeshadows and blushes several years ago and kept only the lip and eye liners. I thought the palettes and blushes were trash. I finally gave them a second chance and bought your #1, which is so much better than the other palettes. I also tried last year’s limited coin collection and it’s ok - not great. I wish they would stick to the formula in the 9 pan.

I'm very much in agreement with you on Chanel old baked formula, horrible. I had the old Enigma which was in squire quad and it was amazing. Later on they released the baked pans, total disaster in my opinion. I am glad Chanel improved their eye shadows lately. My favorite palette is Les Indispensables, too! Best neutral and travel body :-)
