What people don't know is using slicks w/o proper warmer experience will make them harder than DOT making people crash easily at 45 degrees.

got a rear road 5 for my supersport(1000cc) I gotta say I was very worried about this tire but my rear feels pretty planted when taking corners there are many long straight roads and a lack of twisties in my town so I opted for a harder more highway capable tire (my old pirelli rosso III started showing cords in 1500 miles it was nice and grippy but at 200 dollars 1500 miles is pathetic to say the least) I even still have the front rosso III sitting in my garage with the original michelin power still installed bald in the middle but I like to ride them until I see the rubber start to deteriorate. Depending on how long this road 5 rear lasts me I think I found my go to tire.

What tire pressure did you run at the track? Are you running a different pressure than the recommended on the street? My bike is 430lbs and I weigh 250lbs. I run a slightly higher psi on the street. I would like to know what the best pressure is for the track with these tires.

Cool video. Sucks that they didn't give you much time with them. The other videos seemed you were enjoying yourself more, and this one it seemed as if they were controlling it. Maybe once you get back home you can get some more done though where you aren't under their thumb. I always enjoy your reviews, even if just for learning technical things about tires and bikes.

What's up? Yeah, it was a bummer for sure. I like putting in serious time on stuff before I write/talk about it. But it's Michelin's party and I am just happy to be there-- so it's all good. Anyways, we got enough time to be able to talk about the tires but not enough time to really get pumped on them or expose the limits of performance. I'm sure that came through in this video. Sweet man - I really appreciate your feedback. I work hard to report on things the way they are-- and separate the non-sense from the facts. So I'll continue down that path going forward - glad someone out there appreciates that.

Love the videos! How did you like the ducati? Drag any pegs? It was between that and the Tuono RR and I chose the aprilia. Always wondered if you could safely drag knee on sport touring tire

Man, I really liked that little Ducati - I was impressed for sure! - No peg dragging--but to be fair I never really drag pegs on any bike cause I don't lean 'em over that far anymore. Yeah, Aprilia for sure --that's the bike. Glad you enjoyed the vids and thanks for the comments - will have Part III in the next few days/weeks.

Hi Adam. Good vid. Not so sure the PR5's would be good opt for my S1KR on the track. Better option for a litre bike would prob be S21's, Sport attack 3's or RS10's.Otherwise the PR5's are perfect for road use.

Hi Adam. Nice video, but I'm not sure what the point of a track test is if you only get 3 laps...? The cynical might suggest Michelin aren't confident enough to have them properly tested. I know they're an ST tyre, but some of us still like to do the occasional track day on our road bikes.

Yeah, would have been nice to have done more laps - but I got an idea of how they work even with limited time. They work better than before but still a tad squishy on a S1000XR when flogged.

blipco5 just came from road attack 3 on my gsxr 1000 Great tyre but had a few slips when the tyre was cold I’m now on M7RR on my s1000rr and it’s a lot gripper than the Conti downside is I’ll be lucky to get 7000kms out of the rear where the Conti I got 12,000kms

No man - I do not. I like 32/30. That is a good base line on almost everything that is not a cruiser. Adam

Adam, even though your time on the track was short, as you became familiar with the course and were able to push the bike harder did you ever sense you were reaching the limits of this tire?

Hi David - thanks man - you're always my biggest supporter, lol. Good question: I did not come close to the limits of the tires during my three laps on the SuperSport. Right after this we rode a BMW S1000XR fitted with the Road 5's for 2-3 laps and the mighty BMW engine had the power to overwhelm rear Road 5. Basically the R5 is more stiff than before but its still a squishy Michelin when you've got big power above you. I still think it works well and would mount a set on my bike as long as the price isn't out of line compared to the competition's offerings.

Hello people, Thank's for the test . I use this tires on my 1090 adventure (160/60 rear) pretty happy about it (2.3/2.6 B) witch pression on track ? can you go down as 2.1/2.3 for ex. off course i have a 110/80/19 front (120/70 ll be for sale in June here) and i use all the side, Do you thik with the 120/70 i ll more lean and mostly lean braking with less risk to slide ! Thank for answering
