I wanna see a high class food critic review some of spanians takes. I genuinely think he's one of the best online food critics. Look at all the top critics right now. They all rant about useless shit to appeal to their social media team, high influence restaurants, and all the other wankers in the culinary world. Sure they probably understand how flavours and ingredients work, but they're all too busy having to decorate their opinions that it's impossible to get a decent evaluation of how something tastes online. Spanian knows how to break down a dish and describe how each component comes together and isnt too caught up in trying to get in new york times or whatever to actuall do it. I wonder if the current famous critics are happy to see someone making food accessible to the masses, or if they're pissed off that somone's making a difference without sucking off the big players in the food industry

The scene where talking about rivers in the city, in the background across the street is printing house hostel/hotel, was the first place i stayed in Bangkok back in 2019 lol. Quick fact. Thoee rivers use to be how all bangkok was. It was called the venice of south east Asia. Thats why its still famous for floating markets lol

I'm Thai living in OZ mate. I have tried that Michelin star omelet in BKK China town b4 (I ve been there b4 it's got a Michelin star many yrs ago) and to be honest it was not that special. Thai government paid $US2 millions to get the Michelin guide to come to Thailand that's why they got stars. Australia government refused to pay and that's why Australia don't have any Michelin star restaurants. It's not worth paying $60 + 4-5 hours waiting for the omelette mate. It's just a stupid trend from the tourists or Wealthy local to follow Michelin ridiculously expensive dish.

Spanian don’t be disappointed you missed out. I went there years ago because a local told me she was good. I used to have property and a missus there I have been there lots of times. When I got there she found out we were from Australia and talked to my missus constantly. She said her daughter went to uni in Australia and next time we come back to bring us some Australian beef. She talked so much she burnt my omelette and like the other ones that you tried it was tasteless. Also the area that you were in is Chinatown that’s why all the statues and gold is around the place. If you have a look at some of the buildings a lot are red and have Chinese writing on them. Much better to find a nice green curry or a Som Tum (paw paw salad) and sticky rice.

Gday mate was that victory monument you were at ? ,there is food everywhere in bangkok it can be cheaper to buy your meals than to cook at home , you will probably find that the hole in the wall places serve some of the best food , yes they have all the large chains there but i love going to a street seller or a small place to get food its the best ,my wife and i went to mc donalds in bangkok just as it was close to where we were both ended up with food poisoning never got sick from street food its like truckies where the thais eat you eat
