My favorite thing about this video is how HEALTHY and SOOO non-toxic his answers are. Very happy for you friend! (:

@@alliea8141 Oh wow, your answers don't indicate any problem with Jordy but they sure do indicate a problem with you. That is the most cynical and arrogant answer I have ever seen. You don't even know this man and you're assigning devious and manipulative motives to him, when he has never shown any signs of it that we have seen and yes, Michel is right, we're only seeing the merest hint of what Jordy as a person is like, but everyone around her loves him. Don't you think Michel's parents would see that and guard her from being around a toxic person like that? Put down your own baggage before you comment in a public forum would be my suggestion to you.
@marilynelliott32362 жыл бұрын
@@miapoe2501 So men are supposed to pay for everything and that doesn't make you beholden to them? Firstly, you've obviously never heard of the feminist movement and secondly, how did you forget that Jordy has paid for things on several occasions, or haven't you been watching the vlogs? Have you forgotten that Jordy has, in past videos, paid for Michel to do things so they could have remote dates and organised for meal deliveries for Michel when he was away from her? He also bought her the (very expensive) flowery top with the big bows that she had rented because she loved it so much? As far as I can see, he has only ever shown himself to be a super thoughtful, super caring amazing guy. I feel so sorry for the men in your life. You are obviously a taker who doesn't realise that every relationship has to be both ways. One sided never works.

@@marilynelliott3236 Look up covert narcissism and love bombing. He absolutely has shown signs and Michel should be very careful. Also I don't necessarily think her parents would notice. Many people aren't aware of mental health and more covert forms of manipulation, and her parents aren't mental health professionals/don't appear to have any strong knowledge of mental health in general. So I actually don't think her parents would necessarily know/pick up on this in the honeymoon phase, especially if they're more naive. He showed way too much interest too early. The gifts on the first date, $400 shirt just a couple months into dating for no special occasion (especially when he doesn't even have a particularly high income), watching her videos to study her before they started dating, talking on the phone with her for 8 hours at a time, struggling to come up with a real answer about what he likes about her, eating and drinking things around her that would be harmful for her to ingest and acting flippant about it (the coconut water and also several clearly non-gluten free items in the Hawaii vlog), watching her wedding video with her ex on his own months into the relationship, repeatedly talking about how "kind" he'll be to her because Brook wasn't (kind people don't have to announce or even think about intentionally being kind), not to mention how quickly their relationship progressed--that's not normal, and I could provide so many more examples. This looks way more like love bombing and manipulation to me than it does genuine affection, and anyone who isn't telling her to at least keep her guard a little bit up and be looking for red flags (which honestly anyone should be doing if they're only a few months into a relationship) is giving her terrible advice. He's a walking red flag and like Michel said, we haven't even seen most of it. What we've seen alone should make her veryyyy hesitant with him--I can't imagine how many more of these red flags there are that we haven't seen.
@marilynelliott32362 жыл бұрын
@@mackenziesmith3412 Wow, looks like I better watch out then, because my boyfriend and I did pretty much the same things Michel and Jordy are doing, because we were in a long distance relationship too. We're now five years in and getting married next year and I am over the moon because he is the man of my dreams and we are crazy about each other. I know what a narc is. My best friend has been going out with a narc for five years and they finally just broke up recently and the red flags were popping up everywhere with him. I do agree with you that narcs are problematic and not everybody can see them, but its the other things that narcs do that are the indicators. To me, Brook was more of a narc than Jordy. The undermining behaviour that slowly sucks your confidence away, the lies and manipulation, the gaslighting. Now that is a narc. And, her parents didn't like Brook, and let Michel know that, so they're not too naïve. We've all encountered them via the vids.. they seem like very thoughtful, deep thinking people to me. You only have to look at Michel herself. Watch some of the earlier videos and you can see how unhappy she was, because she really WAS with a narc then. Even when she was presenting a brave face and pretending everything was peachy keen, you could see it in her face. Her eyes were soooo sad. Now, she is glowing, she is confident, she is happy. You'll say, yes, because she's in the love bomb phase, but narcs don't keep that up.. that's just the hook to get you in. Jordy is not self absorbed or egotistical. He doesn't need all of the attention or for the adoration to be aimed at him, in fact he keeps on moving that focus back to her. If you asked a narc what do you do, he would NEVER answer, I'm just a guy and I date Michel". He would be singing his own praises to the hilt. He would never say something like, "If I do something wrong and I cause you pain then they can come at me because I would deserve it. " Narcs are more like, "It's your fault that they don't like me, because you haven't presented me properly". It's never them that's in the wrong, its you. Where do you see any of that in Jordy? Sometimes a kind man is just a kind man and I get the feeling Jordy is just a guy who really wears his heart on his sleeve. I thought his answers were very thoughtful and he is capable of great introspection.
@mackenziesmith34122 жыл бұрын
@@marilynelliott3236 That's great, I'm very happy for you, congrats! I've been in two relationships with narcissists--one overt and one covert. They both started out the same way Michel's did, with tons of love bombing, and I was over the moon--that phase also lasted for quite a long time (longer than Michel has even known Jordy). People around me liked them at the time too. If you go back a long time ago, you can even see that at one point Brook love bombed Michel too. I also don't think her parents always disliked Brook, I believe they started to dislike him later into their marriage when he began to neglect her. But to be clear, I think Brook may be a narcissist as well, and I'm not saying that Jordy absolutely is one--of course not. I'm saying that this behavior is identical to love bombing and, although not every relationship that starts this way becomes toxic/abusive, many do. People with a history of abusive relationships (like Michel's with Brook) are also more likely to end up in another abusive relationship, so they should be especially vigilant for red flags. All I'm saying is that this behavior is not typical of an early relationship, but it is typical of narcissistic love bombing. Anyone experiencing this should be looking out for signs of narcissistic/toxic behaviors, but ESPECIALLY someone who has been in abusive relationships before. Narcissists begin relationships looking like the person of your dreams--they have idealized you and will do any and everything for you. This is until you reach the devaluing stage, which can happen days, weeks, months, or even years into a relationship (yes, the love bombing stage can and does last for years in some cases). That's when the gaslighting, putdowns, etc. begin--they don't happen at the start of the relationship. And no, your description of how a narcissist would respond is only accurate for overt narcissism (and even then, not necessarily). Covert narcissists actually commonly respond exactly the way Jordy did--by putting themselves down and minimizing themselves. It's typically a tactic to get compliments, other times it can be as a form of manipulation to appear humble. I don't think Jordy would be an overt narcissist, and to be honest, they're not as dangerous because their narcissism is pretty easy to spot. I think that, IF he is a narc, he would be a covert one. Covert narcs are very dangerous because their manipulation is very subtle, they often appear very kind and empathetic, etc. In fact, usually only people very close to covert narcs actually experience or see the abuse. And also because it's so subtle, many of the victims may not even realize it's happening--they often end up believing *they're* the ones at fault. I've spoken with people who were married for 20-30 years before realizing that their partner was a narc and was abusing them. I both have a degree in this and, like I said, was in long term relationships with people who had this illness. I know exactly what it looks like, which is why I'm concerned for Michel

I posted a picture of him on my Facebook and someone commented “what happened to the one you married?” I knew then moving forward I would protect my peace at all costs. Her and her ignorant self were immediately blocked. You don’t owe anyone any kind of explanation for anything. You are VISIBLY over the moon and finally being treated how you deserve to be treated. If someone has anything negative to say about that, that speaks on their character. The real issues lies within those people and their sad lives. I’m proud of you for creating and implementing boundaries to protect what’s special to you.

His remarks about your kindness is that he feels that your advice and your part in his life is coming from a loving, genuine and authentic place. Glad that she was able to find a person who she can be happy with. Personally for me, it was so hard to leave my 7-year relationship (and it ended on a terrible note too) but fast forward to now, I am married to a man who is a much better match for me and we are happily married with 2 beautiful kids. There's so many positive and great people out there. If you are stuck in a bad place, don't be afraid to leave. Take the time to rebuild yourself (don't rush into another relationship either. You need a solid relationship with yourself before building a healthy relationship with others) and it is a true blessing to be able to discover who you are first before jumping into a long-term commitment.

Wow wow wow his answer about how he would gain your trust really stood out. He said he’ll just show up for you and the rest is none of his business… cause it’s YOUR journey to take. O M G 😭❤️

This was lovely, you are both lovely together & separately. Michel, your ease, comfort, & joy are apparent. Thank you, Jordy, for being the man she deserves, after the guy she was married to. As someone who has been a subscriber from many apartments ago, thank you for taking us along as you bloom!🌺

My boyfriend (now husband) and I were in the same boat. Neither one of us were looking for relationships. But when we found each other we couldn’t pass each other up. We both went through a lot of healing and trauma together as a couple. The first year was not easy, but we have now been married for 4 years. Gods timing is not our timing. I am so blessed. I am happy to see you happy!

This is not meant as shade but you seem like someone who always has a boyfriend, like not alone for long periods of time...I don't mean alone like physically alone (not long distance) but alone without dating someone for at least a year? I struggle with that and was just curious! Like have you been alone without a boyfriend or dating for a long time? I'm trying to do that and I'm finding it hard! People tell me I need to really get to know myself without someone around...What is your experience with being alone (not even dating)?

Long distance is one the most humbling experience. My husband and I just got married in May. We did long distance for 4.5 years. Praying for you guys, it can bring so much love and blessings to your life and relationship. It taught me to love my spouse (boyfriend at the time) in ways I never thought I could love someone. God bless

Love that you are happy. Having been divorced twice and have picked 2 very abusive men. Finding one that is intentional in treating you kind is something to hold on to. I’m looking forward to seeing where God leads this relationship.

Wow, I approve of this guy for you SO much. He’s so compassionate, reflective, kind, and intentional. You can tell he’s really in it for you and not just to check some box. I hope you decide to share more of your adventures together, but of course share what ever you’re comfortable with. SO happy you’re having this experience Michel, you deserve this so much.

AWE---This was an "awe moment" for me! For others too, I am sure. I am typing this before reading other's comment. I love the relationship you two are having. Hopefully it continues, because it is so precious! Glad you introduced Jordy's music. It's very good. Most music I fall for, are songs introduced to me by others. So, I am grateful you shared it with us. Love your trips, and how you share them with us. Let's not compare Jordy with past relations. Because, you can't share this in comparison of your past. He is very uniquely a man full of Love and Joy! His last relationship lost a precious soulmate, for sure! Jordy, thank you, for sharing your current life with us. It's a Blessing getting to know you! Brigitte (age 66) in Tulsa Oklahoma who has watched Michel, way before Michel even dated....her past relation. Love you both, dearly!
