I have never seen more perfect (and perfectly installed) shelves in my life!!!! :) I know your moments of mourning and loneliness and feeling overwhelmed. My husband's suicide four and a half years ago left me with three young children (6,4 and 1.5) and a whole new life to get control over immediately. It was so much, and every decision I made felt like it had enormous weight to it because I had so much responsibility on my shoulders. I was suddenly the only adult in a house with my kids, and I felt like all my emotions had an uncomfortable echo because of the vacancy that had been left behind. I will tell you this - by staying true to all your feelings - the sadness, the anger, and the new distrust, but also the moments of strength, hope, faith and the love you have for life and people, you are going to grow through this and find yourself in an amazing position. You are going to know yourself better than you ever have before because you will have survived enormous loss, and you will know that you can endure trauma and come out the other side of it. You may not feel strong in the moments when you are crying in your new apartment, but please trust me - you are getting stronger in those moments. Sending you love, strength and support.

I like that you added the “1” to also represent the strength of being alone as 1 whole self again. 2 to 1 but also 12. Perfect! No matter what, in life you always have yourself and that’s beautiful in and of itself.

Thoughts about max: maybe you could prep him to go out for a “walk”. Like harness/leash, poo bags, treats, etc. and then walk him out to the porch area. Maybe he will feel like it’s okay if it is the same routine he is used to

Thats a great idea, I had the same issue with my dogs and my trainer recommended to put small trees and plants as male dogs need to lift their legs to pee and after a while they will poo as well, it worked wonders for me.

I agree it’s the suggestions to make it feel more like he’s out for a walk. We had to train our old man dog the same way since he had a tough time going outside due to stairs. I also praised him for using the potty on the patio so he knew he was okay to do it

Max sees it as a part of the house. My dogs are the same. Perhaps change up his walks; his last walk could be earlier and morning walks also earlier.

Michel, you are just about the same age as my daughter and as I watch this I see that haunting sadness that I sometimes see in her eyes, but you know what else I see coming up through that sadness? I see a steely resolve and a strength that only those that have had to rebuild themselves experience. There will be a day when that strength will reignite the fire inside you. It will burst forth and disintegrate that despair. Until that day comes, you are enough, you are strong, you are beautiful, and you are so loved💗

When I was moving into my new apartment, I had zero furniture and a new puppy. It was obviously very different circumstances, but I was also very stressed and overwhelmed. What helped was automating as much as I possibly could. I got subscription boxes for everything from meat and cheese to houseplants and tea, and set up Amazon subscribe-and-saves for everything else that I possibly could. It's such a load off to have things just show up at your door before you urgently need them. Also, Michel's dad, the shelves look awesome. I wish someone would come install shelves like that in my apartment!

Michel thank you for being open and honest about how you are feeling and coping. All too often people on social media only show the good moments of their life. No ones life is always happy and fun. Everyone has sad and stressful days. It is never easy for people who are dealing with the end of a marriage. Everything you are feeling is perfectly normal. It takes a long time to recover from the shock and it takes time to process all the emotions and the new routine you have to get used to. Sending you a BIG friendly hug and positive vibes from Australia xxoo

Something to try For max: when you’re on a regular walk with him, use a key phrase (we use “take a break”) when you see him getting ready to pee/poo, tell him something like “max, take a break “ and then when he goes give him an excited “good take a break!!” With whatever rewards he loves. Do this for a while to help him associate the phrase. Then start using it on the patio till he gets it.

I really needed this today. I’ve gone through a big life change and yesterday was the first day in a long time that I’ve had a panic attack. Seeing your vulnerable side really resonated with me. Thank you for showing that. Also, I am so glad that your parents are incredibly supportive during your divorce. My parents are extremely religious and they basically shunned my sister during her divorce. My dad took my ex brother in laws side. My cousins took his side as well. It was so sad to see. My dad just kept going on about how it’s wrong and the church doesn’t approve etc etc. it took him a few years to come around. I just couldn’t imagine your own parents not supporting you. It’s just so nice to see that your parents care more about you as a person than religious “rules”! Anyways, I am loving your apartment and your recent content. It is nice seeing you do things for you. You deserve it! You’re amazing and just genuinely the best person I’ve ever watched. My husband also comments about how genuinely nice and happy you are. He will sit here and just watch all of your videos with me.

I'm a new subscriber here and I genuinelly completely love your dad. My dad has been building furniture for the family forever, and I learned to do it alongside him. Lately we, with some help from my bf, have built a lot of stuff for my new house. I'm a natural wood type of gal, unlike my mom. Anyways, that's all to say that as soon as I peeked to the shelves I could feel a sparkle in my eye, haha. The reveal was so much better with you talking about the quality of the wood! They're beautiful shelves, that's some great work. Thanks for the vulnerability. Today I felt particularly related. I have some chronic illness and have been learning to actually be an actual adult on my own at the same time. It can be so overwhelming some times.
@Katie05823 жыл бұрын
Thank you for showing it all. I’m sure it can’t be easy to be so vulnerable but I think it’s so helpful. It helps remind me that no one is living a “perfect” life like social media can sometimes portray. For me it’s like out of sight out of mind and instead of thinking people just leave out the hard times I just don’t think they exist for them because everything looks so happy. So, I appreciate that what you’re showing is more realist. It is much more relatable in my opinion

Cost Plus World Market has great cocktail tables/Martini tables. Brass or silver color with marble tops and others are wood- they’re a great way to add some class and style into a spot for an economical price. Love those types of tables particularly for tight spots like next to beds, or adding height and dimension to an arrangement of furniture, and for utility- by setting one or two behind, or next to, big sofas. You can prop ur drinks on them out if the way!and leave the ottoman areas open for fluffy comfy resting fluffy enjoyment.
