Additionally, her family her family will have to pay an approx. $500,000 fee to the bail bondsmen, that will not be refunded when MIchelle goes for her sentencing hearing. So, first it will have to be determined that her parents have 6 million dollars in collateral, then they have to pay the cash of $500,000. Until that happens she sits in prison in Niantic . Correct. It is a pointless exercise. Served on 3 juries, only polled once. Guess he thought he would be able to determine if one of the jurors was strongarmed into voting guilty. The attorney spent more time during the trial trying to score points for the pending appeal, rather than actually defending his client for her crimes. In the four years he has represented her, his time would have been better spent trying to get her to tell him the important details-like where Jennifer's body is and then cutting a deal with prosecutors to avoid the trial and inevitable guilty verdict. Hopefully everyone will remember Shoehorn as someone not to hire if you get in legal trouble.
@dukedematteo19958 ай бұрын
I've seen it happen. Sometimes, a hold out juror or two gets browbeat by the rest of the jury into switching their verdict. So when the jury is polled, and the defendant is present, as well as the judge, it gives them the courage to go back to their original verdict.
@AnitaH-r3f8 ай бұрын
@@dukedematteo1995 well unfortunately for Mr. Shoenhorn that did not happen, did it? In fact, some of those jurors were quite assertive in their response. Atty Shoenhorn would have been better served by trying to explain a viable defense for his client's presence while evidence was being destroyed. Instead he chose to insinuate unproven theories and deflect. In addition to her own actions in this case, Michelle Troconis's conviction was also due to her attorney choosing a losing strategy for her defense.

I love it when the defence counsel asks for the jury to be polled. It is like when a runner had tagged up at third and then when the play resumes, they throw the ball to the 3rd baseman, and the umpire confirms that the runner legally tagged up. Has any time did a polling reversed a verdict? No. Yet they do it, and the defence adds the polling as a line item on the legal bill.

Defense wanted it both ways first saying Michelle was planning on moving away bc of the situation she was ready to leave, but also wants us to believe things were great with the kids custody and they were happy no motive to kill 🤡🤡🤡

Why would a defense attorney put his client through polling each juror on each of the 5 counts? Cruel.

If Michelle has a conscience & knows maybe she'll say now that she's guilty. She might try for a retrial if possible though.
