When I saw Halle Berry present this award, I knew Michelle would be the winner. Michelle made history and became the first Asian actress and the second actress with colour(after Halle Berry) to win the Academy Award for best actress. It was just her first nomination. She won the SAG Award, which led to the momentum. Although I thought Cate Blanchett’s performance in Tar was brilliant, I was delighted that Michelle realised her dream at the age of 61.

What I love the most about Michelle Yeoh’s performance in “Everything, Everywhere, All At Once” and her eventual Oscar was that, she gave the best performance of her career, with absolutely no expectations that the role would win her an Oscar! I hate it whenever actors take on “Oscar” bait roles and do way too much with their acting, rather than prioritizing their acting to best fit their movie’s narrative structure! It’s her lack of Oscar potential awareness is what makes her performance in EEAO so special is because she’s prioritizing the movie over herself and don’t care about being out-staged by letting her cast members the opportunity to shine in their “big moments”!

Andrea Riseborough got such shit for getting nominated, but honestly I finally ended up watching "To Leslie" and... She's absolutely fantastic in it! I can totally see why she got in ( she was never gonna win, but absolutely deserved a seat at the table this year ). Honestly the weakest nomination in that category to me was Ana De Armas for Blonde. Williams was excellent but she should have tried for supporting instead ( now she's lost another Oscar race again ). But I totally get Riseborough now... Still though this was always Yeoh vs Blanchett and everyone else was just there for vacation. Yeoh was 100% the right winner, any other year I would have no issue with Blanchett winning for Tar. Hell if Tar came out in 2024 she'd likely win period. But Yeoh had to win this one...

This was one of the most satisfying Oscar telecasts ever. I really enjoyed watching all these wonderful people from Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser to Ke Huy Quan all taking home little gold statues. What an incredible year for the "little guys".

Apparently appearing in a James Bond movie bestows a lot of Oscar luck upon their actresses. Not only does Michelle Yeoh (leading lady in Tomorrow Never Dies) win a Best Actress Oscar but she also has it presented to her by nonother than Halle Berry, who was the leading lady in a James Bond movie (Die Another Day) a year before she went on to win the Best Actress Oscar for Monster's Ball.
