I can totally see the ‘70s user as a trim on a duster. Around the edges, up the front, and around the collar. Big fluffy accent

The fluffy 70s one could be a rug, even a small one

If the cup cozy is too tight at the bottom, use a larger hook size for the chain and switch to smaller size for the rest of the piece. I've used that method for blankets and it works well.

seconding this! i also really like using foundation stitches instead of chaining, it's more elastic than a traditional chain and less annoying than trying to work into a chain (imo!)

Just to let you know, the ones you said were cakes are actually called donuts. Cakes are the ones that come off of a yarn winder when people use those. 😉😁 They are usually taller and straighter on the outside edge.

since you mentioned washing the cop cozies, just remember that wool can shrink and felt in the washer and dryer. Great yarn haul!

The discontuinued 70's yarn can still be purchased but under the name papatya i believe. So pretty and floofy 😊

I don’t use the feathery yarns, but I know someone who does and she always uses a stitch with a chain one. Like hdc, ch1. Then she only works in the chain. You can’t tell bc of all the fluff~ it’s still a nice thick fabric and nothing shows but the fluffy.

I have the green/gold and a brown/orange 70s yarn and I am making a rug with them

If you make your cup cozy larger, and shrink down the wool, it might feel better (less scratchy). You just have to calculate for shrinkage, and make sure it doesn't felt together in the wash.

So many cool yarns! Especially love the color ways of the Love Wool Plus. I was recently making cup cozies out of cotton since I wanted them to be able to be used for hot or cold, and I was struggling with how rigid it was going from bottom to top. I tried a left to right with ribbed stitch to give it more stretch and it turned out so much better! Great minds think alike haha

Maybe not your style but I think those iridescent yarns would make lovely mismatched gloves. Also I'm holding you partially responsible for me going off and buying 60 quid's worth of hand dyed yarn on clearance after watching this.
