This was right what I needed to check a failed question with Newton's first and 3rd laws, with a still strings maze holding mass objects at points and different axes tied with where belay turn them. Tricky workbook :) Cheers

What is the equal and opposite force to the tension of 50 N for m1 in the 5th example?
@MichelvanBiezen
@MichelvanBiezen Жыл бұрын
When we use the term: "equal and opposite force", we refer to a force pushing against an object (like a wall) and then the object pushing back with "and equal and opposite" force. Not sure what you are referring to with your question.

Well I understood the thrid law to apply equally to "pushing" as well to "pulling" forces. Hence the tension applied by the cable to m1 to pull it, surely should induce a pulling by m1 of the cable in the opposite direction,. Should it not? And that should cancel that applied tension..

Although I have my JEE test in 2025, the 7th case in this video is one of the exact questions of JEE Mains 2024

Which question? We receive many comments everyday and we cannot respond to all.

The direction of the tension force depends on the frame of reference. If two people pull on a rope with equal force, one person will experience the tension pulling to the right while the other person will experience the tension pulling to the left. The tension will still equal the force applied by either person.

Doctor, my exam is in a few days and I have questions that I want someone to answer me, how can I write to you? I really need you😔

I work multiple jobs and have very little time to answer individual quesitons. You can ask using these comments and if time permits we can try to answer them. But I do want to wish you the best on your upcoming exams. 👍

@@MichelvanBiezen Thank you, I really was pleased. I want to ask about the change in potential energy, does it depend on the change in kinetic energy? I also want to ask about the point of reference, does the change in potential energy depend on it? and thank you🤗
@MichelvanBiezen
@MichelvanBiezen Жыл бұрын
The change in potential energy occurs only when there is a change in height (or when a spring is compressed), for mechanical type of situations. The reference point can be chosen anywhere and will not affect the CHANGE in potential energy.
