why is 5/6? the sample space of rolling a Dice 2 times wouldn't be 36 the same as in video 19/62, time point in the video (0:57)

In the previous vid we were rolling 2 dice whereas here it's only one. Since a single die has 6 sides the sample space is 6

It depends on what you then mean by a "3" If it is a combination of 1 and 2 or 2 and 1 then there are two possibilities out of 36 different combinations.

There are 6 number on a die. The probability of throwing a 3 is 1/6. Therefore the probability of NOT throwing a 3 in a single try is 5/6.

1/6 for the first die, 1/6 for the second die, 1/6 ....... 1/6 for the fifth die and 6/6 for the sixth die multiply these probabilities together.

P(6,6 at least once) = 1 - [ P(not 6,6) ] ^3. Total number of combinations for three dices in one throw 6^3 = 216. Number of combinations with two 6 {166, 266, 366, 466, 566, 616, 626, 636, 646, 656, 661, 662, 663, 664, 665, 666} equals 16. P(not 6,6) = (216 - 16) / 216 = 0.926 P(6,6 at least once) = 1 - 0.926^3 = 0.206
