A really smart guy once said: If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. I think this gentleman understands it well enough.

The lucidity and simplicity of this explanation is truly fantastic. The amount of times you will come across unnecessarily algebraic explanations in introductory set theory and probability books really is embarrassing. I get that more formal proofs are needed if you want to be more rigorous with your algebra of sets - but so many texts pretend to be "introductions" and yet they fail in getting the message across, because they are unable to SHOW what is meant, and instead they think it is important to try and prove it right at the beginning, as if a new learner somehow feels more convinced by a proof of something which is presented in a very abstract manner. So... THANKS for this video (and all the other great videos you produce).

That is exactly how I felt when I was a student. That is why we try to present the material in a way that even I can understand it.

@@MichelvanBiezen dude, you completely nailed it. Thats exactly why I'm spending easily 1-2 hours looking for explanations online rather than use my textbook. My textbooks nor my professors are doing a well enough job at explaining what the concepts translate to, rather they're just throwing a bunch of symbols at you, telling you a little bit of what the symbols mean and then expect you to figure out what the proofs mean which are ESSENTIAL TO THE COURSE!!! No wonder why everyone bombs this class
