Interesting take on USC. I thought their D was good but they definitely aren’t tough as a team and I do not feel that they are trying to create a Big Ten like school. That goes against what Riley wants to do.
@dustinschalk8825Ай бұрын
Respectfully , disagree pretty hard . If you’re a Mich fan , you were sweating until the clock struck zero lol. Granted some of the reason was because Michigan made a lot of self inflicted mistakes …but still. USC took a beating early on and still appeared to have the gme won until the last second . That does not indicate a team that isn’t “tough enough” or ready for the big ten. I think they aren’t QUITE there. But clearly moving in the right direction. But we will see (I’m a Michigan die hard so this isn’t just a usc bias)

UM didn't have a first down in the second half until two USC players ran into each other. USC had the #80 rushing defense coming into the game and only allowed 6 yards in the second half until that point. UM will not be gifted a free half by any teams moving forward. No one will respect Orji throwing the ball like USC did in the first half.

My impression of this game is USC’s DC very well could get poached after this year. Dude really turned around a defense in an offseason, are they great? No, but their pretty average, and thats impressive considering how bad they were last year, if they cleaned up tackling vs UMICH they easily would have won

I’m thrilled with the win. Obviously it’s still concerning to see these mistakes ..huge blown coverages/multiple missed tackles/third down defense lol… but I’ve renewed hope with the clear physicality /toughness of these guys. If they can just keep their heads up and get some consistency , I think they will be a lot better by the time they stroll into Columbus then we would have thought after Texas loss. But I realyl gotta say that I’m just not a fan of this new oc yet. He knows more than I do, about football in general and all these kids , their limitations, etc . But man …it’s hard to look at this struggling offense and find any cleverness or creativity . I don’t get it . But a wins a win

SC gave up three explosive plays that accounted for 50% of Michigans run offense. The rest was 133 yards on 3 ypc carry average. I hardly call that a pounding. I put this loss on Riley. Game plan in first half was atrocious. And when SC took the lead he calls bone headed shovel passes instead of run plays to kill the clock. What an idiot!

I don't know if it was Grant or Graham. 2 xichigan DT's that have names that start with G.... Pfff. Who cares? Anyway... if whoever it was had just collapsed on the ball instead of deciding to try to make a DT's dream, the score may have been worse. DT's aren't ball carriers. He got the ball stripped. It was still a great play. It was super cool seeing GRANT (Sam just mentioned it) rumbling, stumbling and then.... fumbling until Marks took it from him. Sam is a xichigan homer but Grant and Graham are both 1st round picks. Blow Goo! And as always, Go, Bucks!!!!
@Yesquire0Ай бұрын
IMHO, Grant was looking around for a faster Michigan player to whom he could flip the ball, and that's why he became vulnerable to that strip fumble. He could have tucked the ball away securely, but he was holding it loosely. He was never going to get to end zone without being caught from behind, and I have to think the U of M defense knows how questionable their offense is and feels some pressure to score some defensive TD's a la Iowa in recent years.

Wait wait wait. So one team has 2 weeks to get ready. The other team literally told them who was starting at the beginning of the week, so they had multiple days to prepare. 32 yards thrown against them in a loss and you're saying that that said team did good.
