@@j_r_junior 6 is the over. I bet it. And I'm 99% certain I'm going to lose that bet. A losing record and a #60 recruiting class isn't something to just pawn off as over-reacting. If Smith weren't a top 8 paid coach in the B1G with tons of accolades, I'd swallow all the excuses. But he was supposed to be a great coach. So far, he's just a notch above Purdue and Maryland. It's very concerning for the money we're paying, for players and coaches.

Were the terms of the Smith hire for him to show up and in year 1, against a top 15 strength of schedule, compete for the conference or the playoff, or to recruit in the top ten? No, they weren’t. The revisionism would be easier to swallow if it weren’t so clearly underwritten from a reactionary standpoint. This is a five year project and, even with a loss against Rutgers next week, this program is on-track. I’m happy to listen to you make the argument that Dantonio would’ve coached this team against this schedule in the current era of college football to a meaningfully better win total… having pondered the question myself, I just don’t see it. In most instances, I find you to be one of the more reasonable voices in this space, YTSparty, but I think you’ve caught the bug my friend

This game was identical to the Illinois game. We looked great in the 1st half and just collapsed in the 2nd half. Just like Illinois we had a bunch of 3 and long, like 3rd and 17 in the second half. Chiles was horrible in both games in the 2nd half. He couldn't run, and his passing was terrible. He's lucky Purdue sucks or they would have had at least 2 INTs. Don't say we shut them down, MSU won because Purdue is God awful. Purdue dropped a game-tying reception, He was wide open. MSU didn't prevent that. And if Purdue ties the game, no way MSU wins this one. It's like MSU comes out with a great game plan to start the game, the other team makes adjustments and MSU is lost after that.

Lack of depth, talent. We need more recruiting and talent brought in which Smith is great at that and devolving. He looks good at first half cause they got gas to play and become tired and all the injuries play a toll, next year this is a 9-10 win program with more growth in the program.

Just absolutely pathetic against last place Purdue. Really unfortunate that the Purdue player lost control of the ball he had a tie touchdown as the Spartan couldn't score anything in the 2nd half. Defense played well 2 half but got lucky. I'm not impressed at all really. It's a rough road ahead as the big ten has many teams now.

Smith need to stop calling stupid timeouts on defense, you've got 3rd and 21 after a sack purdue is on its heals and....msu timeout, they catch their breath, regroup on the sideline, staff dials up a play. 2 plays later touchdown...im so sick of this shit...this has happened way more than once.

Chiles is not a field general. He hasn't progressed at all. I don't buy the inexperience theory. He's been playing ball his whole life. He doesn't have the ability to make sound decisions. We shall see what happens next season. Until msu is dedicated to a top program and get a top gun coach they will continue to be excellent at mediocrity.

Chiles is the reason Jack Velling is injured. His pass was late, high, poor, and really stupid,...a pass from Doctor Kervorkian. It is hard to believe he is the best quarterback the Spartans have. I am one angry Spartan.

one of the worst coaching staffs i've ever seen at msu. this team has not progressed. in game adjustments are non existent. how do you go 6 straight games without a sack. chiles is not a game changing qb. at this point he doesn't even look like a game manager.
