Michigan Students Fight School For Their Free Speech

Some students over in Michigan are suing their school for infringing on their Free Speech, in that the school told them to take off their "Let's Go Brandon" t-shirts. But the students say that the school is showing a clear political bias, because they don't tell students who wear Pride stuff to change.

My son was terrified to even thing of wearing anything like that to school...yet BLM is all good! We tried public for high school, but we had to pull him back to homeschool due to security issues.

I'm absolutely positive he is far more educated than those in the high school he attended for that short time. Schools nowadays indoctrinate more than they educate. The old motto 'No child left behind' has changed to more of a 'no child allowed to advance' attitude!

Fights at school, 2 or 3 times a day. My son has sensory issues, and it traumatizes him when a fight breaks out. And we are in the 3rd largest school District in Tx!

I'd moved my 3 kids from SoCal to Mich to help out my parents after my Dad got cancer. A LOT of things were very different! My 15yr old daughter's new high school counselor was giving us a tour of everything & we got to the lunchroom. My daughter started laughing uncontrollably. I saw what she was laughing at, but I wasn't going to help her. In 15ft letters on one wall were written: "Diversity is Our Strength". My Dad lived three years & we had NO regrets, but wow, was it rough. Good for those kids! The teachers there think they can do anything.

I always hated any form of dress code when I was in school. I remember my high school talking about making us wear uniforms. This was in...2002 I think. A class I was in set up a mock debate to discuss the pros and cons of uniforms. I was put on the side of being pro-uniform, to which I said I couldnt be, because I thought they were stupid. I was told to try and come up with some up sides...I told them there were none lol Because there isnt. The whole reason for having uniforms was so (supposedly) the poor kids wouldnt get picked on by the rich kids for looking poor. Well, thats going to happen eventually anyway, because poor kids are poor. Doesnt matter what they wear. I hated public school. I hate it even more now. Im just glad I graduated before Common Core was a thing where I live. That shit would have just made me stop going to school altogether.

This is typically a very conservative area about 30 miles north of Grand Rapids. Not far from the proposed Chinese battery plant location. I do know immigration has exploded in the Grand Rapids area which is now more purple although 6-7 years ago it was very red. Times are changing fast.

If freedom of speech exists, then why is it illegal to say something threatening about the US president?
