He was a teacher at MY high school and while I didn't have him, everyone knew about him as a loving and wonderful person and teacher. I never once heard anything bad about him and the fact that this school system lost someone as good as him and did not respect him in any way whatsoever is ridiculous. I am so proud of him and so embarrassed by the school system that treated not only this man terribly but all other teachers as well. Thank you so much for covering this.

@Yuri Bezmenov찾아보세요 부탁입니다 SATs/ACTs aren't a great way to test children on their abilities. In fact, SATs/ACTs dont really serve a purpose. And children have always come home from school learning about social interactions because English classes literally teach you about the time period a piece of literature was written and how it contrasts in today's society. History class teaches you about not just wars but also the union strikes and how it affected the laws on meat production and processing. Math teaches you to conceptualize the value of the items, to know the interest rates on loans. You just think that all school subjects should be taught in a vacuum when that has literally never been the case at all

I work in politics and while I do hate it unfortunately those timing rules are what we have to do. I love the point this guy was making and think this school board sucks You'll see this no matter where you are and how progressive it is. I am not defending the school board, but parliamentary procedure is considered sacred, like a sort of rule of law. I see pros and cons to it. Still most people don't know parliamentary procedure which is common in political parties and school boards, so I hope I informed you. You can dislike it fine by me, but I do want to point it out. Because a lot of people misinterpret following parliamentary procedure as lack of care. While this school board definitely didn't, I do feel it's unfair to mischaracterize the issue. There's many worse things to blame them here for.

I work in a volunteer based party of people with many different genders, ethnicities, religions, ages, and diverse political views and it's still like this. I'm glad at the time I went to school over 30 years ago, teachers were qualified, cared about their students and education was a priority. What's happening now to education, protocols and teachers are a disservice. If students and teachers are not happy with the current system, there is no progress. It's failing across this country in record numbers and not keeping people safe is not high on some people's agenda. SMDFH!

Izzy this school board was horrible. As a Progressive I am disgusted. But I also work in politics and have to say parliamentary procedure is considered sacred, especially on school boards. It's considered a political rule of law that keeps order and allows politics to function. So while this school board is terrible, I work in politics and want to point out the truth of the situation. Everything they did besides that, including ignoring his point and complaints, were terrible. But that timing thing while showing how they didn't care by not saying something positive with it, isn't awful by itself. Keeping strict timing is essential to a lot of political procedure and allowing groups to function without devolving into chaos. I hope I helped, I am no apologist and fully side with the teacher here.

In fact, I think it helps if you're not having a staring contest with your audience the entire time you're addressing them. I strongly disagree with your assessment. Real life speeches don't happen like they do in movies. Most average people don't speak like professional actors; that's an arbitrary standard to hold them to. This is exactly how every city council meeting goes. Excepting, I believe one gets 2 minutes, to try to sway thinking on extremely important decisions. I have witnessed council members sending emails and texts while a speaker was presenting (i know this because I was the one that was being sent the emails and texts, and they did not know I was in the room). This model needs to change, but it will not without mass demand, because this model serves the needs of the council or the board, who have placed themselves or we have placed them, in the superior hierarchical position.

I was a pre school teacher and loved it, after being forced into taking shifts and longer hours I was $20 over the threshold for food stamps, I have a young special needs child at home and was only making $10/hr and couldn't afford food without them. I pleaded to HR and they basically shrugged it off, even though my son had been a beloved student 1 year prior. Afterwards I contracted covid and was sick for 5 weeks, after the 10 day covid sick leave my boss called me to tell me that I no longer had covid was therefore healthy and had to come back to work. I had to tell them that I couldn't risk my students, their families and my coworkers lives while I was still waiting to see if I would even survive. I was forced into quitting, and ended up developing chronic health issues after the fact. The American education system is appalling, they do not care for the kids or the teachers and staff. This guy is amazing. My mom is a teacher and is genuinely considering resigning cause the district is trying to push them to return with very little in the way of protections. Update: She resigned. She was the 6th teacher within 3 weeks to resign.

@@AmusementLabs even variants have very little ability to infect vaccinated people and pfizer and Moderna both have booster prototypes for variants strains. Even with the vaccine keeping safet precautions is still very important. The chance for a variant to infect is slim, but it's there, and not everyone has gotten the vaccine just yet.

If that's the case then maybe you can shed some light. There is strikingly little context to this video and the comment section. Are you all upset because you want to end the masks/barriers/social distancing etc. and return to the old normal, or because you want to extend the restrictions and avoid in person learning?

Horrified.... tell me. How many people had the flu this year? How many people died from the flu this year? Do you know? The flu is still here. It killed at least as many people as it always does. So how come those numbers do not exist? Because they where translated into COVID cases and COVID deaths. Regardless of what the people actually died from. You voted for Biden. Enjoy your president. Who is going to bankrupt America, let china take over Taiwan, and step aside shortly to let America have its first female president.

Having a board of directors is an antiquated way of running anything, they're almost always out of touch with the industry they are apart of.

IMO, many boards get "lost in the thickets" micromanaging the trivial or promoting an agenda apart from the core mission. I've seen members invest more time in food orders or seating arrangements for board events than on the policies that will shape the community. Other members view board service only as a social/political stepping stone. There has got to be a better way to govern.

Something like healthcare 3.0, where the clinicians and department heads actually make the decisions. A place where administrators always take a backseat, where their sole focus is to support their staff, keep the lights on, pay the bills. A board of directors would be a check and balance body, to make sure that the clinicians and department heads were staying within the guidelines of their duties and responsibilities. Additionally the board of directors being prominent members of society, would help raise money, advertise, and support the business. Each board member would be required to volunteer a certain amount of time within the organization in different departments in different capacities throughout the year.

To Sir With Love. Bursting with integrity, passionate, articulate, clearly, on the side of students, teachers, and the school, you sure do have much to give. All that was missing was setting the board members 500 lines each to be completed before they get to go home for the evening, "I must think clearly and be informed by science if I am to continue on this board",. Regards from Australia
