Towards the end of their touring as a band they all went sober. So he stopped self medicating and his back was always hurting real bad. He kinda became the grump then. And he was the only one in the band that took the business side seriously. So he came off grumpy cause of that as well

I never really saw Mick Mars as being the "Dad" of the band but I do see him as being a bit of an older brother to them, for sure. He isn't just like always rolling his eyes at them being immature, in some cases he actually gets in on the immaturity himself. Shows them how to do it better/more efficiently. That sort of thing.

Thanks for that. It shows though, even if you have RA, if you have enough determination, and discipline yourself into achieving what you want to be, you can still do it. Mick is an example of a couragious guy who overcomes lifes deck of cards and achieves way more than anyone could have imagined. He should be the poster boy for anyone with a chronic illness.

I met Motley Crue when they came to Spokane, WA on their Greatest Hits Tour, and they stayed at the Doubletree Hotel for two and a half days, where I worked, in housekeeping. After they checked out, I went to see their rooms they had stayed in, and Mick's room, was the neatest out of all of them, and he had his towels folded and stacked in the bathroom, bed made, ashtrays emptied and wiped out, etc. In Nikki's room, the maid was scrubbing the tub, which was dyed red after he colored his hair for the show, lol. I got a chance to chat with them for a bit, and they were all so cool and awesome!!

Also yeah I don't know about the whole "he still plays every show" thing. Aren't they basically retired now? Last I heard they were no longer going to play live and it was because of Mick Mars basically no longer being able to do it. And I don't blame him, to be clear, I think it's a miracle he made it as long as he did.

@@voteZDLR The Crue, along with Def Lep and Poison are doing an arena tour this summer...it was going to start in 2020 but covid pushed everything back. And Mick has played every single show from the inception of motley crue to this very day..he also has a solo album coming out so the guy is still active.

@@markherring3513 Oh well that's cool. It takes more of the burden off of them to do a tour with other bands like that. Rather than having to do a concert all by themselves and play for 2 hours they can play as long or short as they like, so that makes sense. And it's one thing to do a solo album but I doubt he tours it extensively. Most guitarists that do solo albums but are still in their original bands don't tour the material like that.

The progressive bone degeneration gets worse as the years go by if aggravated. The weight of his guitar strapped around his neck puts pressure on his veterbre and back. He probably drank alchohol as a pain reliver more than to catch a buzz. The man had bills to pay and mouths to feed, unlike the younger members of Motley Crue. Mick was determined to whip these guys into famous musicians no matter what! It's like he was driven by the pain and the bills to manifest fame and fortune for all four of them. ❤

Mick’s wife is extraordinarily beautiful sexy intelligent and kind hearted that is why he doesn’t fool around because he doesn’t want to cheat on her and spoil what they have.She did divorce him because he was an angry alcoholic and he would quite often shout and yell around her and the children when drunk she knew that he was self medicating with alcohol it helped to kill the enormous amount of physical pain he had but as she explained to him she had to have some place to go where he couldn’t follow her around bawling at her and that this was the only way to do it they are still extremely close and he sees a lot of her and his children and his grandchildren.
